🎶💒A Choir Visit for Castle Grange!💒🎶

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the wonderful RCCG Christ Lifeline Scarborough choir to Castle Grange! Residents joined in with the singing, filling our home with music, laughter, and even a few happy tears.💕

One resident said, “What a wonderful change it was,” while another shared that it “brought her to tears with how amazing it was.”🥹🎵

A huge thank you to the choir for bringing such warmth, joy, and harmony into our home, it truly was a day to remember! 🌟

Did you know that every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia?

To help raise awareness of dementia and the impact it has on individuals, families, and communities, this month marks the start of World Alzheimer’s Month.

At St Mary’s Care Group, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, person-centred dementia care. Our team goes above and beyond every day to ensure that residents feel valued, supported, and understood. Through kindness and compassion, we aim to make a real difference in the lives of those living with dementia.

We’re also here for families, offering ongoing support, reassurance, and guidance as they navigate the dementia journey alongside their loved ones.

Together, we can help raise awareness and break down the stigma.

Our Superhero Day was a Super Success! Staff, residents and visitors all joined in the fun with some fantastic costumes, and we even had a photo booth with props to capture those the best moments.📸🎭.

The day was filled with laughter, games, and brilliant live music from our singer, making it a truly memorable occasion for everyone.🎶

🦸‍♀️☀️Superhero Summer Party at Castle Grange Care Home!☀️🦸‍♂️

We had so much fun at our Superhero Summer Party! Our residents, visitors and staff got into the superhero spirit, with costumes, colourful masks and even a lively game of bingo!

In the afternoon, the fun continued as we welcomed a fantastic singer who filled the home with music and smiles, performing superhero-themed songs that really brought the party to life.🎶✨

All of this was in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, and it was wonderful to see so many fabulous costumes, raise money for a good cause, and enjoy a day full of joy together.💖

A huge thank you to our Castle Grange superheroes, residents, staff, families and friends, for making the day so special!🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

🎉 A very special birthday celebration for our lovely resident, Flo! 🎉

Castle Grange Care Home were delighted to host an intimate gathering to mark Flo's birthday!

Her family and friends joined her for a wonderful get-together, sharing laughter, stories, a delicious buffet and of course, plenty of birthday cake!

Everyone had a fantastic time and agreed it was such a lovely party to celebrate a truly special lady.

Our homes, including Lincoln Manor Care Home, have been been showing off an array of capes, masks and plenty of superhero spirit as we celebrate our Superhero Summer Party!

Honouring the everyday heroes who make our homes so wonderful, today’s parties are all about recognising our dedicated care teams and incredible residents.

Today's celebrations have also seen each of our homes raise vital funds for Alzheimer's Society, a cause incredibly close to our hearts.

🎨☕ Arts & Coffee Morning at Castle Grange ☕🎨

Our residents having been showing off their creative side during our Arts and Coffee session.

With pencils in hand, they sketched some fabulous drawings, showing off their artistic flair while sharing plenty of smiles (and a few biscuits too!).

It was a wonderful way to spend a morning, getting creative and enjoying good company over a coffee.

We can’t wait for the next one!

🦸‍♀️ Everyday Superhero Spotlight! 🦸‍♀️

At St Mary's Riverside News, we’re celebrating not one, but two Everyday Superheroes who go above and beyond every single day – Laura Foster and Kelly Ware!

Laura, who joined Riverside as a Senior Care Assistant in July 2024, has made an incredible impact on our Night Senior Team. With her exceptionally high standards and unwavering devotion to residents, she has introduced new strategies and systems that help her team deliver the very best care. Tirelessly leading by example, Laura ensures every shift runs smoothly, facing challenges head-on with dedication and heart.

Kelly began at Riverside as a Domestic Assistant in February 2023, and through her outstanding contribution was promoted to Head Housekeeper in July 2025. Kelly is known for her meticulous eye for detail and determination to keep our home spotless for residents. Her leadership, motivation, and commitment to her team are truly inspiring. As she says herself: “Everyone deserves a clean home.”

Together, Laura and Kelly represent the very best of Riverside through their dedication, hard work and always putting residents at the heart of everything they do. Thank you both for your outstanding contributions. You are true Everyday Superheroes!
