💖 Sharing the Love at St Mary’s Lodge Care Home 💖
Our residents got creative, painting beautiful hearts, roses, and other symbols of love before laminating them to decorate our Valentine’s arch. Shell and some of our wonderful residents then worked together to transform the corridor entrance into a gorgeous Valentine’s Day photo opportunity. The finished archway looked absolutely stunning and became the backdrop for some very special moments. 📸
As part of the celebrations, residents were encouraged to make Valentine’s cards, not just for husbands, wives, or partners, but for anyone they held dear. It was a lovely reminder that Valentine’s Day is about all kinds of love: friendship, family, and appreciation for those who brighten our lives.
One particularly heartwarming moment happened when Ann presented her handmade card to her husband Terry during his daily visit. The couple posed together under our Valentine’s arch for a beautiful photo. Terry proudly took a copy home, while Ann put hers in her room as a daily reminder of the love they shared.
Ann had first met Terry 67 years ago at a dance when she was just 16 years old, and they had been together ever since. What an incredible love story 💕
