🌼 A Fun-Filled Week at Shipley Manor Care Home 🌼

We started the week getting creative with some bright and colourful collage-making. Residents chose their outlines and had great fun searching through old magazines to find the perfect colours. With lots of cutting and sticking, they created some truly beautiful works of art! 🎨

Our creativity continued with a lovely afternoon of flower arranging, followed by residents sketching their floral displays, adding their own unique flair. 🌸🖌️

Keeping residents’ hobbies and interests alive is so important to us, which made our special outing to a local crown green bowling club even more meaningful. Some residents used to play there themselves, so it was a fantastic afternoon of reminiscing, watching matches, and cheering on friends. 💚

And to top it all off, we had a very special furry visitor… 🐰
Carer Sun brought in her adorable 8-week-old bunny for some cuddles and pet therapy. It was lovely to see the smiles on residents’ faces as they enjoyed cuddles and shared lovely memories of their own pets.

🍰 World Baking Day at Shipley Manor Care Home! 🍰

We made a cake for World Baking Day inspired by our residents, who shared stories of their happy places, many of them fond memories of holidays spent with family. We wanted to honour all of our residents and their journeys through the years, making this project extra meaningful. 🏖️✨

From the beginning, it was a real collaboration. Residents shared design ideas, families kindly provided treasured photos, and we carefully enhanced them so they could be included in the design. These enhanced images were also sent back to families so they could enjoy clearer versions of those special memories. 📸💫

Then it all came together in the kitchen, where we worked as a team to create a stunning cake filled with memories, creativity, and community spirit. 🎂

🐰 Adorable Visitors at Lincoln Manor Care Home 🐰

👩‍🍳🍰 A Sweet Afternoon at St Mary’s Lodge! 🍰👩‍🍳

Our residents got their bake on last week. With only a kitchenette to work with, we had to get a little creative… and after lots of discussion, everyone agreed on making a cheesecake!

Residents teamed up with Activities Co-ordinator Sarah to smash biscuits and whip up the cheesecake topping before leaving it overnight to set. 🍪🥣

The next day was all about the decorating! We decided to create a template and turn it into our very own St Mary’s Lodge cheesecake masterpiece. 🎂✨

Residents especially enjoyed smashing the biscuits, sneaking a few leftover chocolate buttons, and of course the all-important taste testing afterwards! It tasted just as good as it looked! 🍫😋
