A Musical Singalong - Creating Melody Makers..🎶🎵✨

Sharing a musical singsong together brings a host of benefits.
Today we created a joyful and uplifting atmosphere, helping everyone feel more connected and relaxed and singing as a group.🫂💞

Participating in a musical singsong together supports emotional well-being, this allows our residents to express feelings through music as it breaks down barriers, making it easier for people to communicate and share experiences. 💞💗
These Music Therapy sessions have many physical benefits too, improving breathing and posture, even the clapping, swaying, and simple seated dance movements encourage physical wellbeing. There was a positive effect on the brain and cognitive health as we recalled lyrics and tunes, enhancing memory and concentration. 🧠...This shared experience inspired confidence in our group, and encouraged participation from even the shyest members, creating a safe space for self-expression. You can see by the smiles on the faces that this was a most fun way to spend the afternoon.💞💗

Ultimately, a singsong session is a simple yet powerful way to bring joy, unity, and a sense of achievement to any group.
Overall, our singalong today was a powerful way to nurture friendships, celebrate togetherness, and promote a positive, inclusive environment.✨✨🎵✨🎶

Music & Movement keeps us going...🎵🎶🕺💃

🎵🎶Our Music and Movement sessions provide numerous benefits for our residents here at Marton Gate Manor, enhancing both the physical and emotional well-being of our residents. 💗

At various times throughout the day our residents engage in musical activities which stimulate the memory, encourage self-expression, and fosters social connection, which reduces feelings of isolation and anxiety.
🕺💃Movement, whether dancing, or rhythmic activities, helps improve mobility, balance, and coordination, supporting overall physical health.
Both Lynne, Betty, Ken, Geoff, and Denise thoroughly enjoyed this activity, joined by family members and sharing their stories upon hearing the songs they know from their pasts encouraged participation, helping them feel more energized and connected.✨💗💞

Exercise sessions at Marton Gate Manor...🙆🙆‍♂️🙆‍♀️

An armchair exercise session today that has brought together residents and their families in a warm, inclusive environment, promotes both physical and emotional wellbeing. 💞
Seated comfortably in chairs arranged in a circle,🧘‍♂️ our residents followed gentle movements, focusing on stretching, coordination, and light aerobic activity. 🧘🧘‍♀️

This session encouraged laughter, conversation, and shared moments between generations, helping our residents stay active while strengthening their family bonds. Music accompanied the exercises, creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere that enhanced mood and engagement. 💗✨
These sessions not only support mobility and circulation but also foster a sense of community, belonging, and joy among everyone involved.💞✨💗

Our Domino Lounge is growing....🫂✨

Our Domino Lounge this week was a vibrant hub of excitement and camaraderie, drawing both our residents and visitors from our community together with its lively atmosphere and welcoming spirit. 💞✨

We are only a few weeks in with this club but the group are known for their friendly competitions and Marton Gate Manor has quickly become a favourite gathering spot. The sense of community is palpable, friends have been made,🫂🫂 with laughter and conversation filling the air as the group enjoyed their games and shared stories. ✨

Our Domino Lounge reputation for excellent service and memorable experiences has made this weekly event a standout destination, leaving everyone who visits full of fond memories and a desire to return.✨💗

On Wednesday 8th October 2025 an intrepid group of Kingfisher Cafe supporters travelled to the Time 2 Volunteer Awards 2025 to be with Robert Cousins, our Volunteer Cafe Manager who was in the running for the 'Good Neighbour Award'. There were 4 finalists and Robert WON!!!! Huge congratulations to him and also to Maggie Masters, one of our Trustees who won an award for her work at the Salvation Army.

Whether attending for a quick chat or staying for the morning, everyone is invited to be part of this vibrant community gathering. Come along, connect, and make The Brew Crew your new favourite weekly tradition.
Our launch of this date will be Tues 4 Nov, 10-12....and then will run the first Tuesday of every month.

Celebrating the 1920s at Marton Gate Manor..✨🎉

All the preparation did not fail us, our 1920s themed Gatsby Party was absolutely fabulous, a dazzling celebration straight out of the Roaring Twenties. 🎙️🎼🎹
The room shimmered with gold and champagne tones, guests dressed in sequins, feathers, and sharp tuxedos, and the air buzzed with jazz and laughter. Every detail, from the sparkling cocktails to the lively dance floor captured the spirit of pure elegance and indulgence. This was not just a party, this was an experience of timeless glamour and joy.🍾🥂
As the night unfolded like a scene from a lavish novel, every moment steeped in glamour and excitement. the entrance led guests into a world of gold, black, and champagne hues. The sound of jazz music and the wonderful voice of the fabulous Sandra Robson filled the air. With the epitome of opulence and excitement and a cast of golden glow over the room guests mingled with champagne coupes in hand, their laughter blending with the music as flapper dresses shimmered and pearls caught the light.💎✨
With cascading feathers, and strings of pearls, the scent of fine perfume mingled with the sweetness of champagne and the laughter echoed through the room as guests posed for photos beneath art deco props, …as the night deepened, the energy only grew.
The décor was breathtaking, art deco patterns, glittering centerpieces, and a huge Gatsby backdrop made every corner feel like a scene from a 1920s dream. The energy was electric, every toast, every smile, every sparkle of sequins told the story of a night where time stood still and everyone lived like it was the height of the Jazz Age making this the ultimate night to remember.

This was the most fabulous night for our residents and their families who enjoyed every moment, some donning their sequins and pearls they dressed for the occasion, this was a celebration of life, style, and the timeless allure of the Jazz Age — a night that shimmered long after the last song faded with wonderful memories made. X

Here at Marton Gate Manor we do have regular Pet Therapy sessions with some of the various animals that visit our home but today the therapy came from a different kind of pet. 🐾🐾🐾

Pet therapy with an interactive cat offers a unique blend of comfort, companionship, and emotional support as the gentle presence of the cat encourages relaxation, reduces stress, and helps lower blood pressure through soothing interactions such as petting or gentle play. 🐱🐈
Stuart and Lynne have very much enjoyed this interaction today, the rhythmic purring and soft movements of both Ginger and Pickle create a calming atmosphere that can ease feelings of loneliness and anxiety. 💗🫂
In a care setting, Pet Therapy—whether real or robotic—stimulates conversation, evokes positive memories, and promotes social engagement. 🫂
Our Pet Therapy Sessions evoke emotional well-being, enhance mood, and provide a sense of connection that supports both mental and physical health.💞💞
