of that, We recently made a major investment in the latest (OCT) Optical Coherence Tomographer ) which is normally found in hospital eye departments. It allows us to study your eyes in incredible detail from the top surface of your retina down to the underlying surfaces not visible to us by other means. By keeping records of these images for you we can compare them the next time you visit, year on year. OCT provides exquisite details to assist in the early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of various retinal diseases including glaucoma, diabetic retinothapy, age related macular degeneration ( AMD ), retinal detachments and a great deal more. Our optometrists are highly skilled and have additional accreditation in screening for Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Red Eye, Ocular Hypertension and Cataracts. From fashion to function, trend to traditional, your glasses are as personal as you make them. Our trained dispensing Opticians are here to help you choose from over 600 frames and to recommend the best lens options to meet your needs. For any age, for any budget we are sure to find a frame or contact lenses suited to you.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Optical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the cutting and fitting of optical lenses to spectacle frames ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and precision. This role requires the candidate to work alone in our on-site laboratory using our optical machinery.

Responsibilities

cut and assemble optical lenses according to specifications.
Perform adjustments and repairs on eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort for clients.
Conduct quality control checks on finished products to maintain high standards.
Assist in the fitting of lenses into frames, ensuring alignment and accuracy.
Maintain an organised workspace, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
undertake the ordering of spectacle lenses and consumables.
Accurate Record keeping.
Invoice and credit note reconciliation.
Experience

Previous experience as an Optical Technician or optical assistant with a good understanding of lens Power measurement and practical skills a must.
Familiarity with optical equipment and tools used in lens cutting is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour dependant on experience

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
