Flu cases are higher than they have ever been at this time of year.

An average of 2,660 patients per day were in a hospital bed with flu last week. That’s enough flu patients each day to fill more than 3 whole hospital trusts.

After attending our annual charity ball, Ash and Jaya the directors of the pharmacies were inspired to support our work in the Bridlington community. They saw the perfect opportunity to get involved by joining our Corporate Friend of The Hinge (CFOTH) programme and becoming a valued Corporate Supporter.

🫁 Tomorrow is , and with the new school year starting, it's the perfect time to review your child's asthma management.

As we head into winter cough and cold season, asthma can become more challenging to manage. Here's what you need to check:

🔹 Are their inhalers in date? Check both the preventer inhaler (daily use - usually brown, orange, red or purple) and reliever inhaler (for symptoms - often blue)

🔹 Keep track of doses used - inhalers can seem full but be empty of medicine 🔹 Make sure they have their spacer if needed

🔹 Ensure school staff know about their asthma and have a proper plan

Watch for symptoms of poorly controlled asthma: wheezing, coughing, breathlessness or tight chest.

IMPORTANT: Call 999 immediately if their reliever inhaler isn't helping their symptoms.
