Citizens Advice Bridport & District Offers advice and information on any subject, including welfare benefits, employment, consumer problems, housing issues, relationship issues and debt.

Bridport & District CAB aims to provide the service you need for the problems you face and improve the policies and practises which affect your lives. We can't give advice here but please visit www.citizensadvice.org.uk for up to date information regarding a range of issues. Alternatively visit us at our office at 45 South Street, Bridport or call 0344 245 1291.

Who are we? We opened as an outstation of Weymouth CAB in 1977 for two days a week and Bridport CAB was established in its own right in 1992. We are an independent charity offering advice and information on any subject, including welfare benefits, employment, consumer problems, housing issues, relationship problems, debt and legal matters. During 2012/2013 we saw 1,725 clients, who had 6,806 issues. This involved 12,298 client contacts (i.e. the separate pieces of work on our clients behalf). All advice is provided by fully trained advisers. Our services are free, confidential, independent and impartial and are offered to everyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, religion or disability. We are affiliated to Citizens Advice, a national charity. Supplementing our advice services, the answers to many frequently asked questions can be found at Adviceguide, a national Citizens Advice website service giving basic advice and information on your rights online. The CAB is a charity which relies on a grant from West Dorset District Council and donations from Dorset County Council, town and parish councils and other organisations. We also receive donations from grateful clients. Aims and Principles

To ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or the services available to them, or through an inability to express their need effectively. To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally. Whenever you come to the CAB, the advice given is the best available.
