Bridport FC Announce new Football Director
Bridport, Dorset - Bridport Football Club is thrilled to announce the
appointment of David Richardson as our new Football Director (voluntary
role). David, a highly experienced professional fitness coach and sports scientist, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our club.
With an illustrious career spanning 30 plus years, David has made significant contributions to the world
of sports and fitness. A veteran of the Army Physical Training Corps and a remedial rehab specialist, David has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence in fitness coaching. He comes well recommended from well regarded professionals in football, a testament to his dedication to the field.
In 1995, David opened the UK’s first specialist Personal Training Centre, setting a precedent for
personalised fitness training across the nation. His impressive career includes pivotal roles at eleven
professional football clubs, from the Premier League to the Conference, showcasing his versatility and expertise.
David’s tenure includes notable stints at Blackburn Rovers, Crystal Palace, Portsmouth, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, and more. He has also served as a fitness coach for Great Britain’s Judo team for eight
years, British Superbikes for six years, and professional boxing for six years. His experience extends to
clubs like Dagenham &Redbridge and Luton Town, and most recently, he contributed to the success of Kerala Blasters.
In addition to his extensive work with football clubs, David has been a fitness coach to countless
Olympic and professional athletes, underscoring his ability to elevate performance at the highest levels of sport.
