We were delighted to receive an update from Emily, who recently returned from Kenya after a fantastic 4-week trip that A.J. Wakely & Sons were proud to help sponsor.

During her time in Kenya, Emily worked on several incredible projects – from building a house for a widow and her daughter, repairing school classrooms, and supporting local wildlife conservation efforts, including building lion and elephant deterrent structures and deworming 94 goats! 🦁🐘

Emily shared that the experience gave her new confidence and leadership skills, and she was moved by the gratitude of the local community.

We are so proud to have supported Emily in this amazing opportunity and loved seeing the photos of her wearing her sponsored T-shirt during her time in Kenya.

On Wednesday, Simon conducted a funeral at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Maiden Newton, Dorchester.

We also took the opportunity to capture some updated photographs of our funeral directors in action, showcasing the professionalism and care that goes into every service we provide.

July is Bereaved Parents Awareness Month.

This month is dedicated to raising awareness and continuing to offer support to all parents who have experienced a heartbreaking loss of a child, at any age or under any circumstances.

While National Bereaved Parents Day took place on the 3rd of July, the message continues throughout the month.

You are not alone in your grief. If you are struggling, we encourage you to reach out for support. The Grief Chat service is available on our website, connecting you with bereavement counsellors who are there to listen and help.
