The garage is open and we're already looking ahead.

Phase two of the J.T. Brookes renovation will include updated staff facilities, a modernised mortuary and a larger coffin workshop and storage space.

With the funeral profession under increasing scrutiny and new regulations on the horizon, we're already committed to ensuring our facilities meet and exceed whatever standards come into effect.

Families deserve to know their loved one is being cared for in the right surroundings, by people who hold themselves to the highest standards.

We are already members of The Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF)

For many people, it's one of the hardest days of the year.

If you're facing it without someone you love, whether it's your first Mother's Day without her or your fifteenth, there is no right way to feel.

Some things that might help:

→ Look at old photos. Let yourself smile and cry.
→ Do something she loved cook her recipe, visit her favorite place.
→ Reach out to someone else who's missing her too.
→ Give yourself permission to step back from social media if
it's too much.

You don't have to mark the day in any particular way.

Some things are meant to come back home.

This 1971 Morris Oxford hearse was originally bought by the Downing family and at some point, as many vehicles are, it was sold on.

Then one day whilst looking through Facebook, their exact vehicle popped up for sale!

Most old hearses get scrapped.

The ones that survive often
end up on banger racing circuits. The dimensions make
them oddly well-suited for it. This one was heading that
way.

Will and his father, Stephen decided they couldn’t let that
happen. So they bought it back.

It now sits in J.T. Brookes & Co brand new solar-powered
garage in Brierley Hill, alongside a fleet of modern plug-in
hybrid Mercedes hearses.

We couldn't be more proud here at J.T. Brookes & Co we have completed the first phase of a major renovation.

A brand new, purpose-built garage now houses our modern fleet of plug-in hybrid Mercedes hearses and limousines, including a 1971 Morris Oxford, bought new by our Chairman, Stephen Downing back in the day!

The building runs on solar panels, helping us work towards a greener future for our community.

Officially opened by the President of SAIF, Ross Hickton.
