We are delighted to open our brand-new close care accommodation at Orchard Court Care Home in Brigg, Lincolnshire! 🎉

With an Outstanding CQC rating and 9.8 rating on Carehome.co.uk, Orchard Court represents the highest standard of care provision for elderly individuals. In line with our mission to provide this high standard of care to as many elderly residents as possible, we have recently installed additional close care accommodation to be enjoyed by two new residents.

Our close care accommodation provides the perfect balance between independent living and having around-the-clock care available whenever it’s needed. Residents can enjoy their own private, modern living space while benefiting from the support from our experienced care team.

We look forward to welcoming our newest residents!

Residents have been enjoying dining alfresco over the last couple of days, making the most of the lovely weather and fresh air. Eating outdoors together encourages social interaction, conversation, and a wonderful sense of community, while the sunshine and change of scenery can help boost mood, wellbeing, and appetite. Dear Families/Loved ones
With the warmer weather & sunshine expected, we kindly ask that residents have a suitable sun hat & sun cream available to help keep them safe & comfortable whilst spending time outdoors.
As we encourage residents to enjoy fresh air & outdoor activities, protecting them from the sun is very important. Please ensure that items are clearly labelled with your loved one’s name.
If you have already supplied these items, we thank you for your support. If not we would appreciate them being brought in at your earliest convenience.

Residents enjoyed a lovely Fish & Chips dining alfresco experience, making the most of the beautiful weather while socialising and enjoying each other’s company. Spending time outdoors provided many benefits, including fresh air, natural sunlight, and a calming environment that can help boost mood, encourage conversation, and promote overall wellbeing. The relaxed atmosphere created a wonderful opportunity for Residents to connect, laugh together, and enjoy a meaningful shared dining experience permission obtained to display photographs

To help raise awareness of dementia, we've been sharing information throughout the week about what dementia is, how to spot signs of dementia, the role person centred care plays in dementia care, and where to find support - including at Jasmine!

If you or a loved one has dementia, Orchard Court can support you by:

✅️ Providing respite care for short periods, helping to support carers when needed.
✅️ Providing long-term residential care for those with dementia who would benefit from 24/7 care among a friendly and warm community.

What are the early signs of Dementia? 🤔

Memory Difficulties: Forgetting recent events or conversions, and asking the same questions repeatedly.

Planning or Solving Problems: Finding it harder to manage bills, follow recipes or keep track of dates and appointments.

Finding the right words: Struggling to find the right words during conversations or losing track of what they are saying.

Getting lost or confused: Feeling unsure in familiar places or forgetting how to get somewhere they know well.

Changes in mood or behaviour: Feeing more anxious, worried, withdrawn, irritable or less interested in usual activities.

Check out these wonderful melting moment biscuits we made during our baking session this week. Residents enjoyed weighing and mixing the ingredients, making the activity both therapeutic and rewarding. Baking together encourages social interaction, teamwork, concentration, and reminiscence, while also helping to maintain important motor skills and boosting confidence and wellbeing.
