Afternoon activities at Rastrick Hall & Grange today - we had a laugh on the Top Hall Community with hula hoops & bean bags - we had a challenged who could get the bean bags into the hoops, we also had some flashbacks the childhood days and residents were showing us how their used to hula hoop. We then chilled with a game of dominos.

We also did a spot of home baking with the ladies making our very own shortbread for evening cuppa. 🍪

We visited Rastrick Space Community centre for lunch this afternoon and was lovely that Resident partner Howard came along too. We enjoyed lunch at Space Community centre while having a good natter and laughs while taking part in the quiz.

Sue & Katie supported residents Jean & Joan into Brighouse to have a look around the market and shops, travelling by bus there and back.
Joan chose a lovely red blouse, black trousers and some shoes, while Jean picked a lovely blue nightie. Both ladies loved the shopping trip🛍️

They had a lovely afternoon and were very happy, smiling all the way back home in time for dinner 🍲

Rastrick Hall on Thursday celebrated a culture afternoon - where residents, staff and families all shared different foods.

Culture is the shared way of life of a group of people. It includes beliefs, values, customs, traditions, language, religion, food, clothing, music, art, and social behavior. Culture shapes how people think, communicate, and interact with one another. It is passed from one generation to another through learning and experience.
Culture exists in every society around the world. It gives people a sense of identity and belonging. For example, festivals, traditional dances, and local cuisines help communities preserve their heritage and express who they are. Language is also an important part of culture because it allows people to share ideas, stories, and history.

🎨 Our Talented Artists 🎨

We've been getting creative and showing off our artistic side with a painting activity for our residents.

Some used dots, some used brushes and some used their fingers to make their own creations.

We had flowers and patterns, with resident Linda even venturing into skin art by drawing a paint tattoo on the arm of Wellbeing Lead, Shona.

Judging by our paintings at the end, we have a few talented artists in the building!
