Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines 2025.
It is good to see reference being made to First Aid courses in the 2025 guidelines, especially including measures to help bystanders, lay rescuers and professional first aid providers with emotional effects......

First aid courses should be accessible to the widest possible audience and promote equal opportunities in both providing and receiving first aid.

Course providers should tailor content based on the needs of participants, their context (low-resource settings, rural areas), sociocultural appropriateness and feasibility.

Courses should include measures to help bystanders, lay rescuers and professional first aid providers to overcome fear, anxiety and moral distress during and after providing first aid.

It will be interesting to see how trainers approach this. We include emotional intelligence in all our training and have developed a specific programme for this.

We are proud to be supporting and partnering English Karate National Governing Body (EKNGB) with its First Aid governance and compliance. This is a step towards higher standards, greater accountability, and safer practice across the sport.

We’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be delivering compliant First Aid training for our members.

This is made possible through a new partnership with SEF First Aid Assistance, and we’re really looking forward to working together to provide high-quality, governance-aligned first aid courses across our network.

These courses will help ensure consistency, confidence and best practice across all our clubs and they’re open to all coaches, officials, clubs, and anyone involved within the National Governing Body.

Keep your eyes peeled details of our first course coming very soon.

A big step forward for our members and our standards.

First Aid for Mental Health training in Calderdale.

We don’t expect someone with a broken leg to walk themselves to hospital — so why expect someone in emotional crisis to reach out?

Waiting until someone breaks down is reactive.
Offering connection before they reach that point is proactive.

The courses include an introduction to Emotional Intelligence and raise both personal and organisations awareness. Understand the difference between Hey -v- Hi can make a difference.

Too often we talk about workplace mental health only in terms of productivity. But people deserve support, respect, and fairness simply because it’s the right thing to do.

Our next course is on the 28th January 2026. Courses for group bookings can be delivered on site.
