Self-Love Rainbow ❤️

02/01/2025

2025 is here.
I wonder if you've set those resolutions yet. One of the most common observations I see in my work is that we are so hard on ourselves. New Year's resolutions can be the same. May I suggest 1 resolution you might make focuses on self compassion. An example might be 'I will rest when I'm tired'. Or 'I will have daily me-time'. I'm going to try too.
Wishing you kindness in 2025

It has been a long time since posting.
I have been studying again.
I am now a qualified supervisor. This was a great 6 month course focusing on different models for supervision. I am still able to incorporate my mindfulness into this work which is exciting for me.

Another bonus is this doesn't need to be for counsellors. I can supervise groups within organisations or offer direct support for managers needing coaching/mentoring.

I still have some availability for anyone wanting psychotherapy, just get in touch, or have a look at

This review was written a while ago. Shame is a powerful emotion and its presence can have a negative impact on healing. This book provides insights to those suffering shame (especially those with DID a response to trauma).

Day 3 of the New Year.
Not sure where you are but it is raining here in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
Winter is here, and so are the short days, be gentle with yourself, in particular if you are not feeling the buzz of a new year.
I was listening to BBC podcast series yesterday, on the Seven Deadly sins. The one on sloth (laziness) identified that winter is a time when much of nature slows down to rest and prepare for spring. It is ok to feel a loss of energy at this time.
I was also informed if you want to beat it, small activities can increase you dopamine levels which in turn enable you to do a little more.
So, go tidy your sock draw, or jump on the spot. Maybe identify a bag of things to take to the skip or to a charity shop.
Whatever you do today I wish you peace.

Happy New Year.
We find ourselves using the New Year as an opportunity for growth and development, for setting ourselves challenges to motivate us to be 'better' or more healthy.
This can be a really rewarding experience.
If you are not up to using the New Year in this way, perhaps be gentle with yourself instead. Simple things like setting an earlier bedtime, or drinking a little more water, having breakfast, chatting with a loved one or good friend can all boost well being. You don't need to deprive yourself of the things you enjoy to have a Happy New Year!

This can be a difficult time of year. This might help!
