We are back in the swing of things now the new academic year has started.
Today we are at a school teaching children but we are also delivering a session to staff about choking.
Teaching is a skill is one thing, giving someone the confidence to use it is another.
Revisiting techniques with visual aids / reminders reinforces skills.
These mouse mats are a little bit different.

I am not only happy but also very proud to share that I’ve successfully achieved the industry leading EQ-i 2.0 and 360º Practitioner Certification in Emotional Intelligence with Scott Watson.
This globally recognised qualification enables me to support both individuals and teams in organisations to embed emotional intelligence into how they work, lead, collaborate and perform.
I have already successfully applied these insights within my own business organisation, In particularly in exploring how emotional intelligence can proactively help tackle and address the Bystander Effect in First Aid training.
This has real potential to positively impact Cardiac Arrest survival rates, which are disturbingly and horrendously low at 8% in the UK. I’m excited to research and develop understanding of how our communities and businesses can be even safer places with the understanding of Emotional Intelligence in this area.
Flat Stan First is a multi award winning and my new qualification and understanding can only support trusting clients
Huge thanks to Scott Watson for his guidance, and to Louis Qubrosi and Meredith Wellard for making the training both insightful and impactful.

Another day and another school.
Thousands of children have been introduced to First Aid and CPR, that also means thousands of families.

Inclusivity and giving everyone the opportunity to learn life saving skills is important to us. Having a disability might prevent someone performing CPR but they might be able to give instructions in an emergency situation.

We have had a great day with Paul Hughes, Emma Hughes and Elsie Hughes at Manchester Velodrome. Did you know the Velodrome it is 250m long?
We met some fantastic people from British Cycling, Koalaa Prosthetics and LimbPower. It was inspiring to see people with disabilities tackle the track for the first time.
The 2nd picture is an example of development and adaptations.
We are looking forward to returning and proving a point.

Future Horizons Leeds
Today we returned to Future Horizons to work withtheir wonderful students and staff. We first visted them in 2023 and it was fantastic to see what the students could remember.
By adapting the training the students learnt how to get a response from a casualty, how to contact the emergency services, how to check if someone is breathing and how to follow instructions to perform CPR.
Inclusivity strengthens communities, we are more than happy to share an article we wrote about inclusivity in education. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our work.

Inclusivity is important, everyone should be given the opportunity to learn CPR. There is no room for criticism but plenty of room for praise, encouragement and support.
Inclusivity strengthens communities.

International award winning Flat Stan First Aid and Flat Stan First Aid Workshops have been specifically developed to introduce our younger children to essential life skills and First Aid.
We have discovered many children do not know 999 is the emergency telephone number but we know young children can make a difference in an emergency situation if they are given the opportunity to learn these skills.
The workshops can be adapted to suit the age of the children and fit into the school curriculum particularly Key Stage 1-4 and are delivered around the existing school timetable.
To date approximately 90,000 children have been given the opportunity to be introduced to these skills and we know this number will grow in the UK and abroad during 2020 - 2021.
First Aid is a vital skill and it can make a difference to the lives of children, their parents and also the wider community. By working together we know we can make a positive difference.
