Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how much we expect ourselves to carry.

So many women I speak to are “coping” — getting through the day, holding it together, doing what needs to be done — while feeling completely drained underneath it all.

What I’m noticing more and more (in my work and in my training) is how rarely we give ourselves space to pause and actually be heard.
Not to be fixed.
Not to be told to be more positive.
Just to feel what’s there without judgement.

That space matters more than we realise.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself, it doesn’t mean you’re failing. It usually means you’ve been strong for too long.
You’re not alone in that.❤️

Try this with me…

Breathe in through your nose for four counts…
Hold for two…
and then exhale through your mouth, like you’re fogging up a mirror.

Do that twice.

Feel that drop?

That’s your nervous system realising it’s safe to relax — you’re home now.

You don’t need a full meditation practice; you just need sixty seconds to tell your body the day’s over.

But here’s the thing: your needs aren’t optional extras — they’re the fuel that keeps everything else running.
Here are 3 ways you can put yourself first today (without guilt):
1️⃣ Say no without explaining. A full sentence: “No.” Period.
2️⃣ Schedule your rest like school pick-up. Non-negotiable.
3️⃣ Ask for help — and don’t apologise for it.
Taking care of you isn’t selfish. It’s survival. 💛
