How often do we dismiss and forget about the power of simplicity?!
We often reach towards intense experiences in yet another cathartic workshops, many think that big release equals better. while the power lies in simplicity, repetition and slowness. Especially for us, women, in the lutel phase of our menstrual cycle, nervous system regulation is crucial! daily, for sure! a few times a day when premenstrual 😉
•shaking- helps to release big emotions, stagnation in the body, softens tensions;
•big moves of arms, swaying arms around the body- creates openness, makes space for fuller breaths;
•longer and slower exhales- an easier drop in into parasympathetic nervous system, calms, relaxes.
In the times when we mostly live in our heads, daily somatic drop ins are non-negotiable! when you next time feel frustration before your bleed arrives , reconnect with your body, shake off big feelings, breatheeee.
I used to have intense PMS and loads of anger buildup before my moon arrived. But we don’t have to live with it. It doesn’t have to be ‘our nature’ as it’s deeply ingrained in our culture. Lifestyle changes and nervous system regulation are game changer to create balance and regulation throughout our monthly cycles.
