We have all been indulging, myself included during this holiday season.
💡 HOLIDAY TIPS 💡
Be mindful: don’t just eat for the sake of eating. Go and make yourself a pot of herbal tea and sip on some delicious tea like rooibos, hibiscus and fresh mint. It’s still putting something in your mouth but it will help warm up your digestion to help eliminate and absorb the nutrients
2. Be choosy: Don’t just eat what you are given. Eat only what you 💓
3. Protein your sugar cravings away. Increase your Protein intake and vegetables so you don’t crave the bad carbs
4. Wait about 20 minutes before you decide to take second helpings. Your brain will let your stomach know how full it is so you don’t keep eating more!
5. Don’t drink alcohol on an empty stomach as it increases the effects and messes up insulin making you crave more sugary foods
6. Chew your food to help your gut digest & absorb nutrients and rid the bad stuff... you will be thankful to avoid the food baby look the next day
7. Drink slowly and make sure you drink water with electrolytes before bedtime to prevent a hangover and dehydration from alcohol, sugar and salt intake
8. Have alternatives to gluten like rice, potatoes, quinoa , and cauliflower rice
9. Dairy alternatives : macadamia milk, almond milk, rice milk, h**p milk
10. Alcohol choices : gluten-free spirits such as 100% agave tequila, gluten free and non-flavored vodka (potato or grape)
11. Exercise : even walking while you x mas shop versus driving can help increase the circulation and lymphatic drainage .. movement of any kind 🚲
