🟣 During menopause oestrogen levels drop, which can make it harder for the body to absorb iron.
🟣 After menopause, iron levels can increase due to the end of periods, which can potentially contribute to insulin resistance, cardiovascular issues, joint
pain and other symptoms.
🟣 A blood test which includes serum ferritin, can determine the levels of iron in your body and dietary changes can help to change your iron levels if they are too high or too low.

Here are some tips to help you through ⬇️.
😬 Chew slowly – Slowing down your chewing aids
efficient digestion and helps you to savour each
mouthful.
🚰 Are you thirsty? – We often mistake feelings of hunger for thirst. Drink some water or a herbal tea before eating a snack.
πŸ— Include protein – it’s best to include some protein in your snacks as this will help you feel fuller for longer.
⏰ Plan ahead – if you’ve got a healthy snack with you, you’ll be less likely to buy a sugary or high fat snack when the hunger strikes.
