We are pleased to share that our Bungard Aftercare Bereavement Counsellor, Kristina Burvill-Ridler, will soon be leading a supportive workshop for those grieving the loss of a spouse or partner. Kristina has been part of the Bungard team since 2017 and is a highly skilled psychotherapist (BACP/UKCP) and group facilitator who is truly brilliant at what she does.

Exploring Grief
A 3-part therapeutic group for spouse/partner bereavement

This small, supportive group has been thoughtfully designed to offer a safe and understanding space for anyone wishing to share their grief journey, connect with others experiencing similar loss, and receive gentle guidance from an experienced professional.

Participants will also learn about grief theory and explore practical self-care strategies that may help navigate the weeks and months ahead.

Dates:
• Monday 1st December
• Monday 15th December
• Monday 12th January

Time: 2:30pm – 4:30pm (each session)

Location: Cornerstone Community Centre, Hove

Cost: £65 for all three sessions

I will be holding a supportive and therapeutic spouse bereavement group starting on 1st December. This is a 3 part group, and dates have been planned around the holiday/new year season, as this can be a difficult time for many.

Please share and spread the word with anyone you feel may benefit from the peer support and therapeutic space.

Many Thanks

Kristina

Thank you to Bungard Funeral Directors for having me at their coffee morning yesterday. It was wonderful to see the team again and always such an honour to connect with the families they have supported through bereavement.

Bereavement is a topic that our culture can shy away from, for a number of understandable reasons. However, for many, to open up about one's grief story, to find support and understanding in a community, and to share those precious stories and memories, is healing and nourishing.

There is someone near ready to listen, when you are ready to share.

I'm working on a grief support group/ workshop that will run over three weeks in-between the festive period.

More details coming soon.

Thanks to Richard and the team for the Aftercare service and all the support they give to our community.

What an amazing project!

Sharing a great technique here!

I use many breathing exercises with my clients, this being one of them. The benefits of breathing techniques and breathing awareness are astonishing.

Not only can breathing exercises help with grounding and emotional regulation, they can also help with:

Relaxing the body
Managing physical pain and symptoms
Lowering the heart rate and blood pressure
Improving energy conservation and sleep

Please check out the link below for more information, and a free download which includes 3 mindfulness breathing exercises.

Wishing you all a restful bank hoilday weekend!

I enjoy my job so much, I often find it hard to put work aside and recharge on the other stuff. The world seems to be constantly telling us to admire productivity, and aspire to be busy! But no, rest is a necessity and gives us space and time to listen to our own needs. Being aware of our own needs and acting accordingly to them, can improve our well-being. A useful way to listen to our own needs is to ask ourselves 'what can I control?'
