Every morning at 10.30am, our Client Coordinator, Laura, calls Barry. It’s more than just a chat. It’s a routine that eases his anxiety, helps him plan his day, and gives him the reassurance that someone is always looking out for him.

From South Africa to Sussex
Bruce joined Kingsway Care from South Africa in December 2023 and has quickly become a much-loved part of our team. Clients like Pat and Barry enjoy his company, and you can see the strong bonds he’s built in our latest photoshoot. 📸

Still beaming (and aching a little) from our amazing, activity packed Bank Holiday Sunday summer party at Hove Lagoon. Great team building and fun in the sun to thank our team for all that they do for others.

🌻 “Good morning, sunflower… goodnight, sunflower!” 🌻
Our wonderful client Biddy has been nurturing her Kingsway Care sunflowers every single day and it shows! She even sent us this lovely note:

“Dear Kingsway, I just wanted to thank you so much for the sunflower seeds (whoever thought of that was a genius!). I have had such fun watching them grow every day. It made me feel really happy. And then suddenly they had these beautiful flowers, both slightly different from each other. I (of course) say good morning and goodnight, which I am sure helps them flourish?!”

If you had a gorgeous view from your own home, wouldn’t you want to do everything possible to stay there and age well in it?

One of our lovely clients was delighted this morning when a parade of swans glided by her window and even a rare black swan!

It made her day (and our CareGivers’ too) and is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. At Kingsway Care, we support clients to live well at home, in the place they love most, so they can keep enjoying these special moments.💛

🌻 Kingsway Care in Bloom! 🌻

The first bloom in our Kingsway Care Summer Sunflower Challenge has arrived! Proudly grown by Biddy, who has nine decades of growing know-how (and a very sunny windowsill🌞).

Fittingly, this sunny moment comes exactly 5 years after our founder, Olly Carter, started Kingsway Care with one clear mission – to spread positivity and happiness in our community to those needing a little extra support to live independently at home.

And yes… sunflower yellow just happens to be Olly’s favourite colour and why we are all drenched in yellow from the uniforms to the website and beyond. 💛

Could Bruce be the Best Bed Maker in Brighton & Hove? 🛏️
Nina speaks out:
“Bruce was saying he was Carer of the Month… but I’ve been thinking, he’s so good at bed making, there should be a category for Best Bed Maker. His bed making is first class. I’d have no doubt nominating him!”

Sources close to the sheets confirm Bruce’s corners are crisp, duvets smooth, and pillows perfectly plumped.

We asked Bruce for comment, but he was too busy fluffing!

Kingsway Care July Dream Team Meeting 💛
We had our in-person CareGiver team meeting tonight at the Kingsway Care Academy in Hove. Lots of laughs, and some seriously brilliant teamwork recognition. Kellie and Vicky agreed it was one of the loveliest meetings yet and so great to see everyone together!
Of course, we tried to get the perfect group photo… but there’s always one who blinks, sneezes or suddenly forgets to look at the camera. (Looking at you, Arthur! 😄)
