Pub Quiz Whizzes!
King Arthur & Queens of Kingsway 💛

In our recent anonymous pulse survey, we asked the team what social event they’d most like to do… and the clear winner was a local pub quiz!

So last night, our small but mighty team – King Arthur and the Queens of Kingsway – took on the regulars at the The Railway Inn ✨

We’re proud to report we came 9th out of 18 teams – not bad at all against some seasoned quiz pros!

A special shoutout to our brilliant Client Coordinator, Laura, who was an absolute whiz at the quiz and kept us on track all night 🙌

Bruce, one of our CareGivers took our client out for a visit to Dobbies Garden Centre this afternoon and shared this lovely photo and message.

“I was so excited to hear that I was going to be taking Derick out today. I have wanted to do this for ages! Today we went to Dobbies and had a coffee and a scone at the coffee shop! Such a treat… but an even BIGGER treat being with him! I hope that I get more opportunities to go out with him again! 😊”

We’re incredibly proud of our team and the genuine connection they build with the people they support. 💛

Community, Cake & Time to Talk Befriending / TTTB
Kingsway CareGivers Amy, Brendon and Nayana, enjoyed their time at this month’s Time To Talk Befriending coffee afternoon in Durrington.

Around 40 guests attended, enjoying tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake, thanks to the brilliant TTTB volunteer team. Amy, Brendon and Nayana were on hand to support guests with mobility needs, helping people safely on and off the minibus and making sure everyone felt welcome and included.

Supporting independence, connection and confidence is at the heart of what we do, so we were delighted when TTTB asked if we could provide professional caregivers for these events.

When it feels like it’s been raining since New Year, the sun shines on Kingsway Care! ☀️

🎉Happy 104th Birthday, Florence🎉

One of our former clients, Florence, celebrated her 104th birthday today! Born in 1922, she has seen more history than most of us could fit into several lifetimes.

Although Florence moved into a care home last year, we still love popping in to see her. Kellie, our Field Care Supervisor, and Jonathan visited with birthday wishes and a big smile. Florence was in wonderful spirits and even sang along with Jonathan to *Happiness* by Ken Dodd.

As Kellie said:
“I just thought she would love it, as we’ve never missed her birthday since we’ve known her.” 💛

What's Your Favourite Local Pub Quiz in Brighton & Hove? 🤔

Five years ago, during lockdown, we ran free online quizzes to help people feel a little less alone.
They were hosted by our brilliant former CareGiver Dave, a musician, natural entertainer and a real lifeline for many of us during those long, quiet evenings.

We recently asked Dave if he’d like to host a quiz night in real life for our clients and CareGivers. Sadly for us (but brilliantly for him), he’s now a very busy jobbing musician touring with Belinda Carlisle supporting Take That! So no spare time for us.

It reminded us how much we love bringing people together, whether online or in person.
