Kingsway Care to Meet The King! 👑

Two weeks today, Vicky, our Managing Director and her "plus one," Olly, Founder & CEO, will be representing Kingsway Care at a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, where they’ll have the honour of meeting King Charles III.

Thank you to the Homecare Association for nominating Vicky for such a prestigious occasion and recognising everything we do for the homecare sector. It's a proud moment for the Kingsway Care team and reflection on how far we’ve come in just five years.💛

Kingsway CareGiver, Bobby and client, Gary, did with a sunny walk and a coffee in The Royal Pavilion Gardens.

Gary bumped into his friend David, bringing back memories, including a regional golf tournament David won back in 1980 that Gary still remembers well.

Care doesn’t have to look clinical. We support clients to get out, stay connected and enjoy normal life. That's why we don't always wear our bright yellow uniforms on companionship visits.💛

A Glass Of Wine in the Sunshine 💛🍷😎
Sometimes, it’s the simplest moments that mean the most to our clients. Yesterday, one of our Senior CareGivers, Peta, supported our client Peter, who lives with Parkinson’s, on a walk along Hove seafront.

They stopped at Rockwater Hove, sat in the sunshine, and enjoyed a drink together. (Wine for Peter and pineapple juice for Peta). For Peter, it wasn’t just an afternoon out.
He said it was the highlight of his year.

After some difficult months, being able to walk further than he had in a long time and spend time by the sea lifted his spirits.

At Kingsway Care, we believe homecare isn’t just about getting through the day. It’s about making it worth living.

P.S. Peta was focussed on the client in front of her and 'forgot' to take any photos so we nicked this photo from the lovely Rockwater Hove. Hope you don't mind, with love from Kingsway Care.

Biddy’s ‘perfect’ dippy Easter eggs! 🐣
Thanks to our Senior CareGiver, Sally, for sending in these photos and the story behind how to make the perfect dippy eggs.

"Before starting my maternity leave last week, I was on a visit with our lovely Biddy, and we got chatting about how much we both love dippy eggs at Easter. I (slightly shamefully!) admitted that I struggle to boil eggs properly. Mine never turn out like my dad’s used to.

Biddy kindly shared her “perfect every time” method…
I tested it on Biddy’s tea that evening, and we got it right! Perfect eggs! Then this morning, I thought I’d try again myself. Without Biddy’s wise words of support, I felt a bit nervous…
But again, perfect dippy eggs! 😅☺️

Biddy’s method:
🥚 Room temperature eggs
🥚 Place eggs in a pan of cool water so they are fully covered
🥚 Bring to the boil
🥚 As soon as it starts to boil, take the pan off the heat and leave for exactly 3 minutes
🍞 Serve with buttered toast.

We loved spending time at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA) last week 💛

Our founder, Olly Carter chatted with students studying Health & Social Care and came away seriously impressed. The questions, ideas, and understanding they already had, even about CQC and home care, were amazing to see.

It was a great chance to share what working in care is really like, with our short films ? and ?, challenge a few stereotypes, and hopefully inspire some future careers along the way.

A highlight? Discovering one student already had a family connection to Kingsway Care!

We had a very special send-off for Sally as she starts her maternity leave. 💛
Sally has been an incredible part of Kingsway Care, growing into a fantastic Senior CareGiver and making a real difference to so many of our clients and team. We’re so grateful for everything she’s given.
Now it’s her turn for a new adventure, and we know she’s going to be an amazing mum! We’ll miss her so much and can’t wait to meet the little one! Wishing you all the love and luck in the world, Sally 💐
