At Emteq Labs, we’re building smart glasses that go beyond steps and sleep, giving new insights into how we eat, feel, and behave.

It’s a big mission that deserves to be shared widely.

That’s why we’re crowdfunding.

It’s not just about raising funds, it’s about inviting our community of friends, colleagues, researchers, athletes, and everyday people to be part of the journey.

We’re excited to share that Emteq Labs is joining the Core Digital Measures for Common Mental Health Disorders project, led by the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) with the FDA.

This initiative will create patient-centred, objective digital measures to transform how mental health is understood and treated.

By combining Emteq’s expertise in wearable sensor technology with the leadership of DiMe and the FDA, we’re working towards:

Earlier, more precise signals of treatment efficacy
More personalised care with actionable data
Smarter investment in treatments that truly work

Just as continuous glucose monitors changed metabolic health, digital sensors will reshape mental health care. We’re proud to contribute to this effort to answer the critical question: What works, for whom, and when?

What does a smile, frown, or subtle eyebrow raise really say about how you feel?

Our OCOsense™ smart glasses can pick up those tiny expressions while you’re just going about your day—no wires, no lab, just everyday emotion and activity tracking.

Whether it’s used in healthcare, research, or even eating behaviour, the possibilities are huge.
Find out how it works in our new blog:

👓 It’s on!
Google is reportedly taking a 4% stake in Gentle Monster — and it says a lot about where the future of eyewear is headed.

Analogue glasses will soon seem as quaint as analogue watches: relics from a time before technology merged with fashion.

Fashion First
Big Tech knows the challenge: how do you get people to wear smart glasses every day? The answer is fashion.
Meta teamed up with EssilorLuxottica. Now, Google is betting on Gentle Monster.

Why Will We Wear Smart Glasses?
Smartwatches didn’t win by telling the time. They gave genuine value — heart rate, fitness, and daily insights.
Smart glasses will do the same, monitoring:
✅ Eye strain and UV exposure
✅ Sleep quality and stress levels
✅ Micro-expressions for proactive help and deeper connections

Breakthrough Capabilities:
🤝 Proactive Assistance — Helping when confusion is detected
📈 Experience Tracking — Understanding how we feel and learn
👁️ Attention Analysis — Helping us focus when and where it matters

The tipping point?
Smart glasses will soon feel as indispensable as a phone. Not wearing them will seem like going out with your phone switched off: possible, but impractical.

👓 The race for the next computing platform has begun. Snap just announced the first consumer AR glasses for 2026 — beating Meta, Apple, and Google to market. [https://archive.ph/MV0gl]

Why it matters:
✅ Meta’s Ray-Bans have sold 2M+ units
✅ Smart glasses market projected to grow 225% in 2025
✅ The long-term vision? Replace smartphones entirely.

But there's a missing piece: true face-to-face communication needs more than voice. Without facial sensing, AR glasses lose emotional depth.

That’s where Emteq comes in — with lightweight facial sensing to bring real emotional intelligence into AR.

We’re not just building devices. We’re building the future of human connection.

The real question: will we keep tapping screens — or finally look up?

Excited to share that our founder and CSO, Charles Nduka will be sharing insights at the 43rd Wearables Technologies Conference 🙌🏼

⏳The countdown to the Wearable Technologies Conference has begun, and we are excited to announce another two out of the more than 50 speakers who will be sharing their insights on the latest in 🚀

First up is Dr. Charles Nduka, the founder of Emteq labs, a UK-based company that specializes in emotion-sensing glasses technology for headsets and glasses. Charles' experience in treating facial muscle paralysis led him and his team to develop wearable facial muscle sensing and behavioural analysis systems for , , and . The technology is also used by leading researchers and content creators to measure objective responses to real-life and immersive experiences.

Next, we have Dr. med. Urs Schneider, an internationally recognized expert in , , and technologies and biomechatronic research for the protection and treatment of the human musculoskeletal system. He is the director of the division at Fraunhofer IPA, manages the Biomechatronics department, and heads the Human Technology Interaction department at IFF, University of Stuttgart. He also is the initiator of WearRACon Europe and the Exoworkathlon study format, along with colleagues.
