Breathe less, sounds so simple doesn’t it?
That’s the key.
It ultimately means you’re breathing more slowly, calmly and a lot less per minute.
This is why people who spend time in contemplative states, or getting lost in something they love will slow their breathing right down, they’re so calm and centred they’re pretty much in that meditative state without even trying!
Start slowly and gradually increase your resistance to the build up of carbon dioxide in your lungs - the longer you can do this the more oxygen will be released from the red blood cells.
Always remember good tongue posture - your tongue should be suctioned up against the roof of the mouth.
If you have any heart conditions, other illnesses you’re unsure about and if you’re pregnant always seek advice from your medical professional first before trying breath holds.
