Our online practitioner Directory has grown from 67 members at the start of 2025, to 99 as we kick off 2026! 🥳✨

And today, we’re introducing another fantastic Proud Wellness Directory member to you all!

👋 Name: Zoe Joanna
✨ Pronouns: she/her
🏳️‍🌈 Identity: LGBTQIA+

👉 About Zoe:

Hi, I’m Zoe. I’m an ADHD and AuDHD coach and counsellor-in-training, offering neurodiversity-affirming support for adults, particularly those diagnosed later in life.

I work with people who feel overwhelmed, burned out or stuck after years of trying to “fix” themselves or meet expectations that never quite fit. Many of my clients are navigating identity shifts, masking, shame or emotional overwhelm.

My work is trauma-informed, person-centred and grounded in compassion. I believe support should feel safe, human and collaborative, not pressured or productivity-driven.

👉 How Zoe can support you:

I offer a supportive space to slow down, explore who you are and learn how to work with your brain and nervous system.

I support ADHD and AuDHD adults with:

> Burnout, overwhelm, and emotional regulation

> Rejection sensitivity and self-criticism

> Identity, boundaries and unmasking

> Building self-understanding and self-trust

My approach blends practical support with deeper emotional work, helping you move away from shame and towards a more compassionate, sustainable way of living.

We’re absolutely delighted to share some big news — Proud Wellness has been awarded £20,000 of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, supporting our work for the next two years.
 🏳️‍⚧️🎉🏳️‍🌈

🌟 This funding allows us to create and deliver a new series of free Q***r Wellbeing Programmes launching in Spring 2026.

🌟 These programmes will offer accessible, inclusive support for LGBTQIA+ people, helping our communities to connect, learn, and care for their wellbeing in affirming, culturally competent spaces.

🌟 As a non-profit Community Interest Company, external funding is vital for our continued work.

It allows us to keep the lights on, keep our work accessible, reduce financial barriers, and continue developing high-quality wellbeing support that centres LGBTQIA+ people, especially those who are often excluded from mainstream wellness spaces.

We’re deeply grateful to for making this work possible.
 🙏🤩

More details coming soon — including how to sign up, what’s included, and how you can get involved.

📣 Trans+ Awareness Week may have ended, but our commitment to showing up for trans and gender-diverse people must continue every single day.

** And one of the most direct, life-changing ways we can show up is by helping trans, nonbinary and gender diverse people access gender-affirming care. **

Two of our brilliant Proud Wellness practitioners, Brinny (they/them) and Musa (he/him) ***r are currently fundraising for their top surgery. Both hold space daily for LGBTQIA+ communities, supporting others’ wellbeing while navigating their own barriers to essential care. 🩵

Gender-affirming care saves lives.

But NHS waiting times now stretch years or even decades across the UK:

- 12 years in England.

- 2 years in Wales.

- 58 years in Scotland.

- 41 years in Northern Ireland.

Not only are these statistics totally unacceptable, they are putting trans+ lives at risk in so many devastating ways. 💔

And leaves private care as the only viable route for many.

Yet the cost of surgery, recovery, and weeks of unpaid time off work places this care out of reach without community support.

This is where active allyship and mutual aid make all the difference.

If you’re able, we’re inviting you to contribute to Brinny and Musa’s fundraisers.

If finances are tight, sharing their links is just as powerful.

Every contribution—every pound, every share—creates real change. 🙏

Your solidarity makes a tangible, life-affirming difference. 🩵🩷🤍

Today is Trans+ Day of Remembrance. 🕯️🤍🏳️‍⚧️

As we remember trans+ lives lost around the world, we’re holding our community close.

If today feels tender, you are not alone.

If you need rest, take it.

Be gentle with yourselves today.

Trans+ Day of Remembrance is not only about looking back at the lives we’ve lost — it’s a reminder of the urgent work still needed to make sure trans people can live safely, openly and joyfully.

With love, strength and solidarity — today and every day.

*thanks to Musa ***r for today’s post. 🫶

As practitioners in the worlds of health, wellness, fitness, and healing, we hold people at their most tender.

Their stories.

Their bodies.

Their breath.

Their being.

Our clients come to us seeking support, understanding, and safety. For our trans, nonbinary and gender-diverse communities, that safety is not a given — especially right now.

🏳️‍⚧️ Trans+ visibility without safety is dangerous.

🏳️‍⚧️ Inclusive language without further action becomes performative.

🏳️‍⚧️ And awareness alone is not allyship.

Right now, trans+ people are facing increasing hostility—attempted segregation, public dehumanisation, erosion of rights, and barriers to life-affirming and life-saving healthcare. Most are moving through the world with heightened fear and uncertainty.

When wellness spaces aren’t actively inclusive, the impact is real ⤵️

😔 Clients are addressed in ways that don’t reflect who they are.

😔 Their identities are questioned, doubted, minimised, or ignored.

😔 They’re dismissed, excluded, or made to feel invisible or unsafe.

😔 They experience discrimination, alienation, and harm.

And here’s the truth:

You have trans+ clients—whether you know it or not.

And they deserve safer, more inclusive, affirming support.

As practitioners, our role isn’t passive. Our actions shape the environments clients step into.

Allyship is not a statement or a sentiment, it’s something we do.

That’s why we’re hosting Trans+ Allyship in Wellness this Trans Awareness Week: a free 90-minute panel discussion led by trans+ practitioners working across the wellbeing field.

We’ll explore:

👉 The challenges trans+ people face accessing wellness services

👉 How to respond to transphobia and advocate effectively

👉 What it takes to build safer, genuinely affirming practices

This is your invitation to listen, learn, ask questions, and take meaningful action.

🏳️‍⚧️Trans+ Awareness Week 2025 🏳️‍⚧️

Wellness practitioners — don’t miss my Top 3 Tips for supporting Trans+ clients further down! 🙌

👉 Why Trans+ Awareness Week matters

Trans+ Awareness Week (13–19 November) is a vital time to amplify Trans+ voices, celebrate diversity, and advocate for the rights and well-being of Trans+ people.

This week shines a light on the discrimination, misunderstanding, and hostility many continue to face — and it celebrates our resilience, strength, and contribution to society.

In 2025, when Trans+ people are still navigating challenges to safety, healthcare, and dignity, this visibility and solidarity matter more than ever. We all have a role in creating spaces of compassion, inclusion, and respect.

👉 What Trans Awareness Week means to me

For me, this week is about reflection and celebration — acknowledging what many Trans+ people endure, while celebrating our existence and joy.

It’s about showing that despite barriers, we are here, living authentically, building communities, and supporting one another.

Within the Trans+ community, connection is powerful. Sharing our stories brings comfort, reduces isolation, and gives hope to those still finding their way. 🩵🩷🤍

👉 How wellness professionals can support Trans+ folk

1️⃣ Pronouns matter
Introduce yourself with your pronouns and invite others to share theirs if they wish. This simple step signals safety and respect — a foundation for trust and belonging.

2️⃣ Don’t generalise
Working with a few Trans+ clients doesn’t make anyone an expert. Every Trans+ person’s experience is unique. Stay open, curious, and person-centred.

3️⃣ Respect privacy
If someone shares their Trans+ identity, that’s an act of trust. It’s not an invitation to ask about medical history, transition plans, or their past. Maintain boundaries and respect autonomy — even if you’re part of the community. 🙏🏼

Together, we can help ensure wellness spaces are inclusive, affirming, and trauma-informed for Trans+ clients.

Let us know in the comments what Trans+ Awareness Week means to you 🏳️‍⚧️⤵️

In honour of Trans+ Awareness Week (13–19 Nov), we’re bringing together a panel of Trans+ voices to share lived experiences, practical insights, and action steps for creating safer, more inclusive wellness spaces.

Because awareness on its own isn’t enough.

Our trans+ clients need us to be proactive in our allyship now more than ever.

Whether you’re a coach, therapist, personal trainer, yoga teacher, nutritionist, or provide other wellbeing-related services, this conversation is for you.

Join our panel of trans+ wellness practitioners as we discuss:

👉 The challenges trans+ people face when accessing wellness services.

👉 How to respond to transphobia in wellness spaces - and how to advocate.

👉 What it really takes to create trans+ inclusive and affirming services.
