My top 5 horror movies as an aesthetic nurse πŸ‘©πŸΌβ€βš•οΈ

Not because aesthetics are scary… but because being informed matters more than people think.

When treatments are carried out correctly, aesthetics are very safe… but like anything medical, it’s important to choose the right practitioner and approach for you.

As a medical aesthetics practitioner in Brighton, my priority will always be:
✨ your safety
✨ natural, balanced results
✨ treatments tailored to your face and your goals

A lot of the β€œhorror stories” you hear can be avoided with the right guidance, high-quality products, and a practitioner who is trained to manage both results and complications.

Whether you’re considering dermal filler, anti-wrinkle treatments, skin boosters or advanced skincare, it’s not about following trends or copying someone else, it’s about making informed decisions that support your skin long-term.

If you’re ever unsure, ask questions. A good practitioner will always take the time to explain, educate, and make sure you feel comfortable 🀍

Most people spend hundreds (sometimes thousands) on skincare…
and still forget the one thing that could prevent their skin from ageing as fast.

SPF.
Not just on holiday.
Not just when it’s sunny.
Every single day.

Here’s what most people don’t realise:
UV rays break down collagen at a cellular level…long before you see wrinkles, pigmentation, or sagging. By the time it shows on your skin, the damage has already been building for years.

And it’s not just about ageing.

Using sunbeds before the age of 35 increases your risk of melanoma by up to 75%. That’s not a small risk,it’s a significant, preventable one.

Even in the UK. Even in Brighton. Even on cloudy days.
Up to 80% of UV rays still reach your skin.

This is why, as a medical aesthetics clinic, we focus on prevention just as much as treatment.

Because no injectable, no facial, no device…
can fully undo years of unprotected sun exposure.

What actually makes a difference:
🧴 Daily broad-spectrum SPF (yes, even in winter)
β˜€οΈ Avoiding sunbeds completely
🌀️ Being mindful of β€œcasual” sun exposure

Small habits. Long-term results.
If you’re investing in your skin, start with the thing that protects it.

You don’t need more treatments… you need better decisions.

SPF skipped. Sunbeds β€œjust once”. Aftercare half done.

Then wondering why your skin isn’t where you want it to be.

Clear skin. Natural results. Treatments that actually last.

That only happens when you stop working against your own results.

Your skin will reflect your habits…every time ✨

A recent lip filler before and after result πŸ‘„

One of my most asked questions in clinic is β€˜how long does lip filler actually last?’

The truth is…it can depend.

It varies from person to person and depends on your lifestyle, metabolism, and the quality of product used.

On average, you can expect results to last between 6–18 months πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

This is what I call a bridal emergency πŸš¨πŸ’πŸ’’

Swap church bells for alarm bells… because this would send anyone into panic mode.

With any injectable treatment, swelling (and sometimes bruising) is completely normal.
It’s not a β€œsomething’s gone wrong” situation, it’s your body responding exactly as expected.

✨ Some people swell very little
✨ Some people swell more
✨ And occasionally… it can peak the next day

Which is exactly why timing matters so much.

For events like weddings, I always recommend allowing at least 2–3 weeks (ideally longer) before the big day.

This gives you time for:
πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈAny swelling or bruising to fully settle
πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈResults to soften and look their absolute best
πŸ‘°β€β™€οΈA review appointment if any tweaks are needed

Because the goal isn’t to just β€˜get the treatment done’, it’s to make sure you’re feeling completely confident walking down that aisle 🀍

Planning ahead = no last-minute panic, no β€œwhat ifs”, just glowing, settled, natural results.

If you’re unsure on timings for an upcoming event, I’ll always guide you honestly, even if that means waiting.
