Last week was super special.. 🦄
Celebrating two years as a song leader 😀🧡💕💫🎶🌱

I remember that very first day, a Wednesday morning in January 2024, setting up our space with my then 2 year old daughter Noa, thinking oh my gosh is this going to work with her being at work with me?!!!
I remember how nervous I was before the first song..
we sang “when I rise” a song by Wendy Tuck from Wendel Berry’s poem, I was on the edge of a precipice!!

I literally had no idea how this work of song sharing would become my life, my joy, my purpose 🧡

2 years of leading women in song
2 years of joy, love and connection
2 years of new beautiful songs learnt and shared
2 years of learning the sacred honour of holding space
2 years of LOTS OF TEA
2 years of making GAZILLION VEGAN BANANA CAKES
2 years of building the most INCREDIBLE communities
2 years of meeting wonderful fellow leaders
2 years of working alongside my daughter
2 years of being SEEN and HEARD
2 years of having a SANCTUARY
2 years of singing and laughter and pride
2 years of watching women close their eyes whilst sing and find THEIR PLACE
2 years of MANY shared WhatsApp voice notes of songs with other SM leaders
2 years of having the BEST JOB

I thank ALL THE WOMEN who chose my group to join and continue to be part of this incredible community that we’ve all created together 🧡

I’m also celebrating 1 year of my second group that I started here in Woodingdean!
I was so unsure if and how it would grow but I had faith and it did grow and continues too!

The picture shown (missing a few of course due to the season 🤧) is of our sweet Tuesday Singing Mamas circle and the most beautiful song you can hear us singing is Sarah Bell’s “Together we are One” which is my newest mist favourite song, thank you Sarah!

And we all spin round on this Earth together
And we all set sail on the Sea of Life
And we all dance on No matter the weather
Together we are One under the Sun

In March we will be celebrating 2 years of our Patcham circle!!🙌💕💫🎶👌🧡🥳

Our first mini retreat was a wonderful success; blessed by the gorgeous January sun, the absolutely perfect space at and a circle of lovely women who came to recharge themselves and be immersed in the act of self care, nature connection, gentle intention setting and reflections on their past year 🌿

We sang, We ate, We Weaved, We Forest bathed, We Sat in a Circle with our eyes closed listening to the crackling of the Fire 🌿

Working with was an absolute joy, and we are already planning our next one set to be sometime in April so do get in touch if you’d like to join as we have limited spaces 💚

Thank you to Lucy from for your absolutely perfect space for our retreat 🌿💕🌱

Being a leader is often a remote kind of job for many who are part of this wonderful network; we don’t go to the office or a place of work and meet our colleagues, we go to our venues/spaces and create and hold our circles 🧡

Soooooo to meet our colleagues why not meet up in the woods and connect, have a fire, drink chai and sing?! 🧡

There’s many of us down here in Sussex and I’m always up for a gathering so we are, having a sing, in the woods, looking forward to many more! 🧡

Thanks to for your space 🌺

We’re singing my newest song “Be the Light” 💫

We are the light
Be the light
Open your heart
Open your heart

I Love being part of this January daily singing in our network, sharing beautiful songs and holding each other up in the process 🧡
Thanks to .singingmamas.cambs for organising!

Gorgeous share by .singingmamas.shoreham yesterday and looking forward to Sarah’s tomorrow ☺️

I’m singing “Rushing” by Wendy Luella-Perkins 🧡

I love singing this especially in the new year when we have to remind ourselves that we are still in winter and that we must remain slow!

I recorded this on Sunday in the Woods before meeting some fellow Singing Mama’s leader for a sing and a cuppa 🎶🧡

What am I rushing to
What am I rushing for
Slow Down
Slow Down
And Saviour

🌱Be the Light

This song/mantra came to me during the lead up to the New Year

Christmas, Hanukkah and Solstice is all about light; we see lights everywhere, we sing about lights.. But what does it really all mean?

To me I believe that I am in a privileged position to be holding space and leading groups, that are to many indeed a life line and are in themselves sacred circles.

Leading by example and leading by truth, love, compassion and inclusivity is so important to me.
There has been so much division during the past two years and I seek every day for community and compassion and togetherness which I strive to uphold in my circles and Women’s evening circle🧡

We are the light-
Shining our light outwards, connecting our innate goodness and desire to live in Peace with one another

We are the Light
Be the Light
Open your Heart
Open your Heart

Keep singing it!

It’s been 3 years since I’ve seen my dear friend Tara in actual physical form and we’ve both been longing to sing together for ages!!
Well it finally Happened!! 🧡🎶
It was a short visit but we did manage to squeeze in A LOT of singing and was such a pleasure to have her in my Women’s singing circle on NYE and also one of my groups which I hosted at home as mostly everyone was away! (Obviously 😅)
We sang into the night on NYE as we sat around our friend’s kitchen table including a fabulous rendition of a Sister Act medley! Isn’t it amazing how songs stay with you after decades of not singing them?!!
I wish she could’ve stayed longer.. we have a long history of singing together starting with gigging around London, Brighton and festivals in my folk band Solebound and now both Singing Mama’s leaders, her in Ireland, myself in Brighton🧡
Most days we are sending each other song recommendations to bring to our groups and voice notes of many songs too 🧡
Grateful for our friendship 🧡

We are singing “We’ve got all the love” by Helen Yeomans
It’s truly one of my favourite songs to sing as the sentiment is just so beautiful; full of hope 🌱

We are being filmed by my 11 year old son Oren who is always up for the challenge of doing photo shoots for the band and being supported by his brother Tamir aged 8 🧡

Singing is so powerful and wonderful 🧡

Sending Love and Peace to all this coming year 🧡

With love, Laura xx

Wintery Seasons Greetings ❄️
We’ve just arrived back from my ancestral home of North West London and have loved being able to walk out on to Hampstead Heath which is just so beautiful and still and full of wintery freshness ✨✨
It’s one of my favourite things to do when we’re there and I always find a way to weave a walk over it into my day 🌳

My song “deepest winter” is about gathering together, being still, enjoying the slowing down yet it’s also about setting intentions for Spring; togetherness, peace and unity.

Deepest Winter
Is upon us now
And we shall gather together
And sow our seeds
For we all know
That when we are one
That Spring will come
And grow our Hope

We’ve been singing this in my groups and evening circle over the last couple of months, you can hear my gorgeous women’s singing circle in the video 🧡

Come and Sing with us in January 🧡

Full of love and gratitude to receive this from Emily who runs the Well-Being at Maycroft Manor, the care home where I’ve been running my group at which is coming up to 2 years in March 🧡
We have the most gorgeous inter-generational circle, growing week by week, word of mouth works best!!
From the tiniest of babies to the wisest of the elders, we come together every week to sing, to laugh and to connect 🧡
It indeed as been a glorious year of singing 🧡

Happy Solstice and Happy Channukah to everyone❤️Let the Light Spread its Warmth of Love, Peace, Hope and Unity ✨✨✨And Me...

Happy Solstice and Happy Channukah to everyone❤️
Let the Light Spread its Warmth of Love, Peace, Hope and Unity ✨✨✨
And Merry Christmas for the coming week!
Winter Solstice always gets me a little bit excited as I know that Spring is just around the corner 🎶🚛🧡

For this Turn
Be Kind
Be Love
Listen
Learn
And the Wheel Shall Keep Turning
And we shall slowly move outwards
Towards the Sun
Warm our Hearts and our Souls

I rarely make videos as I always record all the beautiful singing on my phone so here’s a pic of set up of our gorgeous space on Tuesday before one of my circles opened 🧡

We are Created by Sound
We are created by the Song of the Universe

Absolutely love this song by as I do with most of her music, her songs resonate deeply with me and it’s always such a pleasure and honour to share them 🧡

While we sang this song, some babies were feeding, some were sleeping, toddlers exploring.. all soaking in these incredible vibrations created by the Women in our Circle 🧡

Love my Job!!

We always have space for more to join ☺️

We’re singing Penny Stone’s song “It keeps my heart warm”

Have loved singing this! 🍃🍁

There’s always space for more voices so do get in touch if you’d like some midweek singing and nourishment 🧡

All Voices Welcome 🧡

When the leaves turn gold and yellow and red
When the wind blows cold and I need my bed
It keeps my heart warm
