SAMHAIN STEAM AND SPOOKY 2ND CELEBRATIONS 🕷️

Enjoying the spooky season? 🔥👻 We’ve got two Saunadelic specials this weekend to celebrate Halloween with heat, story, and a little mischief.

On Friday 31 October, we welcome Kat , a plant folklorist and sauna practitioner in residence at Beach Box Sauna, to lead a Samhain Steam Ritual.

Samhain is the ancient Celtic festival that gave rise to Halloween — a fire rite marking the end of harvest and the descent into winter. It is a threshold moment, when the wheel of the year turns and the veil between worlds grows thin. A time of remembrance, of story, of honouring the unseen.

Kat will guide you through this passage with Lithuanian leaf-whisking traditions woven together with myths and symbols from the British Isles. Her knowledge of herbs, plants, and steam creates a sensory ritual that connects you to both ancestry and season. Expect an unforgettable journey through heat, story, and spirit.

Then, once your need for deep communing has been met, join us on the afternoon of Saturday 1 November (3–8pm) for a completely different vibe — because Halloween doesn’t have to end at midnight! 🎃✨ We’re throwing a Halloween party that also celebrates Saunadelic’s 2nd birthday.

At 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm, our special sauna sessions will brim with mischief: live DJ beats from Los Residentes, themed body treatments, aufguss ‘eyeball’ ice balls, and even apple bobbing in the cold plunge. Lagoon-side hot dogs and refreshments will keep you fuelled for the fun.

As a thank you for your continued support for us down at Hove Lagoon and as a celebration of 2 years of sauna heat we’re bringing you a party next Saturday 1st November, 3-8pm and you’re all invited!

Sauna can be booked (see website) but your trick or treat sauna master will be bringing lots of gruesome body treatments and steamy sourcery on us.

AT SUNSET 🌅

To-night the west o’er-brims with warmest dyes;
Its chalice overflows
With pools of purple colouring the skies,
Aflood with gold and rose;
And some hot soul seems throbbing close to mine,
As sinks the sun within that world of wine.

I seem to hear a bar of music float
And swoon into the west;
My ear can scarcely catch the whispered note,
But something in my breast

As cloud and colour blend at set of sun.

And twilight comes with grey and restful eyes,
As ashes follow flame.

You’re all invited to our 2nd birthday party on Sat 1st November 3-8pm

🕷 Live DJs spinning beats between sauna rounds so you can sweat and dance the night away

🍎 Apple bobbing in the cold tank — plunge if you’re brave enough

We’re delighted to have Kat, a sauna practitioner and plant folklorist based at join us on Friday 31st October for a magical, herb filled ritual to mark the beginning of the darker half of the year.
This guided ritual will weave together traditional Lithuanian Pirtis healing with the myths and seasonal stories of the British Isles. Kat’s work is rooted in sharing the therapeutic benefits of sauna and creating spaces where ritual and community become accessible in everyday life.
For Samhain, participants are invited to step into the sauna to honour the turning of the year — a time when the veil thins, and we cross into the liminal space between this world and beyond. Through steam, herbs, plants, and magic, the ritual offers an embodied journey to ground, release, and open to the mysteries of the season.
This is a space to connect, reflect, and be held in the warmth of community as we step together across the threshold into winter.
