This International Women’s Day, we’re wishing the very best of luck to everyone taking part in the Rock N Road Runners x Jersey Girls Run community run.

Today’s fully supported 50 and 90 minute runs bring people together to move, connect and show support for women across our Island community.
Through JerseyGiving, powered by Sports Giving, participants are raising funds for Jersey Women's Refuge Charity Advent Calendar FREEDA, whose work helps protect and empower women and prevent domestic abuse in Jersey.

International Women’s Day is about recognising progress, supporting equality and strengthening communities. Events like this show how coming together through sport and fundraising can make a real difference.

Good luck to every runner taking part today, and thank you to everyone supporting the IWD Give To Gain campaign.

As International Women’s Day approaches, we are proud to spotlight our partnership with Women in Tri UK.

In 2025, RaceNation HQ launched an industry-first integration with Women in Tri, redesigning key elements of the event registration journey to make events more accessible, transparent and confidence-building for women.

Sports Giving are proud to power fundraising Women in Tri's International Women’s Day parkrun takeover on Saturday 7 March 2026.

Every donation helps grow the community, support coaching and mentorship, and strengthen advocacy for gender diversity in triathlon.

This is about more than one event.

It is about breaking down barriers in swim, bike and run.

March marks Brain Tumour Awareness Month, making this 45-mile walk particularly timely.

William and Indie, both 17, are taking on the Jersey Island Walk on 7 March to raise funds for Jersey Brain Tumour Charity.

They are walking in loving memory of Janine Hacquoil, Indie’s nan, who faced the devastating impact of a brain tumour.

So far they have raised £545, reaching over half of their £1,000 target. An incredible start, but there is still work to do.

The Jersey Island Walk is no small challenge.

45 miles around the coastline in a single day demands resilience, determination and serious mental strength, especially at 17. They are doing it not just to remember Janine, but to raise awareness and support other islanders facing similar battles.

The Jersey Brain Tumour Charity has supported over 400 local people since it was formed, ensuring that no Islander facing a brain tumour diagnosis feels alone. From tailored one to one support to monthly meetings and community walks, their work makes a real difference when it is needed most.

Let’s help William and Indie push past their target and turn this challenge into lasting impact.

👉 Support their fundraiser via Sports Giving and help them honour Janine’s memory.

Every donation moves them closer to 45 miles and £1,000.

Dinger is out there. Right now 💨

Dave “Dinger” Bell is currently alone in the Pacific Ocean, rowing day after day, completely solo and unsupported.

Having departed Lima, Peru, Dinger is deep into an extraordinary journey across the entire Pacific Ocean, a stretch of around 7,500 nautical miles. No support crew. No safety net. Just him, his boat, the weather and the ocean.

And this may only be phase one.

As he rows west, Dinger will make a critical decision near Australia. If mind, body and boat allow, he plans to continue through the Torres Strait, along the full north coast of Australia and then on across the Indian Ocean towards Mauritius. If successful, the full route would total an almost unbelievable 14,500 nautical miles, setting a new benchmark for ocean rowing.

Out there, he is navigating powerful currents, unpredictable winds and remote reef systems, rowing up to 10–12 hours a day, sleeping when he can, and fuelling himself on 5,000 calories daily. He is entirely self-reliant, carrying everything he needs to survive, repair his boat and make fresh water at sea.

Dinger is doing all of this to raise funds for Rock 2 Recovery UK, supporting veterans and others through physical challenge, community and purpose.

You can track his progress live, see his exact position and truly grasp the scale of what he is facing.

From organising events to taking on the challenge James Higgs, event organiser and director of I-Compete Events, and his wife Annabel Parry are heading to Nevada to run the Rock 'n' Roll Running Series.

It is always great to see event organisers stepping onto the start line themselves and experiencing the challenge from the runner’s side. Planning events is one thing, but lacing up and taking on 13.1 miles is really walking the walk.

James and Annabel are raising money for Dorothy House, a charity close to their hearts and one that supports so many people and families at the times they need it most. They have seen first hand the impact Dorothy House has on lives across the community.

Their fundraising is powered by Sports Giving, making it easy to support their journey and donate in one place.

If you can, please donate via the link in the first comment and help make every mile count.

raised over £6.5K with 🏃🏽‍♀️
At SportsGiving, we believe great tech should make fundraising feel easy — and Black Girls Do Run UK have shown exactly what’s possible when community and tools come together.
By using our platform, 12 incredible fundraisers each had their own fully branded BGDRUK donation page, helping raise over £6,500 including Gift Aid — all tracked live through our interactive leaderboard.
📊 Live updates kept supporters engaged in real time
✅ Donation pages looked and felt like BGDRUK, with their brand front and centre
🔁 And their fundraising doesn’t stop there — with a SportsGiving Direct Donation page, BGDRUK can now accept monthly recurring donations via a fully branded donation page right on their website
This is what we’re all about: giving communities the tools to grow year-round, reduce admin, and build momentum far beyond a one-off event.
👏 A huge well done to the team at Black Girls Do Run UK — we’re proud to be part of your journey.
