My #1 therapy tool… and it’s simpler than you think 🧠✨

The 3 P’s:
→ Positive thoughts
→ Positive actions
→ Positive interactions

Sounds basic… but this is where real change starts.

Your brain is always taking in information—and what you focus on, you build more of.
So when your thoughts are negative, your actions and interactions tend to follow… and it becomes a loop.

But the flip side? That’s where it gets powerful.

Small shifts—thinking “tomorrow will go well”, doing something kind, having a better interaction—start to change your internal state.

You’re not just “being positive”…
You’re supporting a more consistent flow of serotonin—helping you feel calmer, more balanced, more in control.

This isn’t about forcing it or pretending everything’s perfect.
It’s about gently shifting your focus towards what’s working.

And over time… that’s what creates momentum.

That’s what creates real change. 🤍

Save this as a reminder & come back to your 3 P’s today

Your brain is always listening… even when you think you’re “just thinking.”

It doesn’t clearly separate imagination from reality.
When you vividly picture something, your brain activates the same pathways as if it’s actually happening.

That’s why mental rehearsal works.

There was even research showing that people who imagined lifting weights saw real increases in strength, without physically training!
Because the brain was still sending signals to the muscles.

Now flip that…

If your brain responds to what you imagine,
what happens when your thoughts are constantly negative?
Stress, worry, “I can’t cope” then, your brain practises that too.

This is exactly where hypnotherapy helps.

By guiding you into a calm, focused state, we can start to rehearse better patterns: feeling calmer, more in control, more capable.

So it’s not about “just being positive”…
it’s about training your brain differently.

And over time, that becomes your default.

Ever wondered why you can’t seem to stop smoking… even when you really want to?

It’s not a lack of willpower.

Over time, your brain learns that smoking = relief.
Every cigarette gives a small dopamine hit, so your brain wires it in as something helpful… even if logically you know it’s not and the ni****ne is actually a stressor making you gradually more anxious and more depressed the longer you do it.

Then it becomes a habit.
Linked to stress, routines, certain times of day, even people.

And when stress kicks in?
Your brain goes into survival mode… and that logical, “I should stop” part goes quiet.
So you go back to what feels familiar.

That’s why it can feel so automatic.

Hypnotherapy works by calming that stress response and helping your brain step out of survival mode… so you can think clearly again.
From there, we start to gently break those old patterns and build new ones that actually support you.

You’re not weak.
Your brain just learned a habit… and it can learn a new one.

I’ve been studying solution focused hypnotherapy since September last year and it’s a super comprehensive course with CPHT

As well as the portfolio written side of it for the HPD diploma (which is insanely complex) I also have to do practical assessments and 200+ hours of client sessions within the 10 months for the DSFH qualification.

I just received this lovely review from one of the first people I started sessions with at the beginning, and am looking forward and proud now to receiving more reviews as I progress through my client hours 😅

In a typical 1-hour anxiety session, we start by talking about what’s been good in your week. This helps shift your mind into a calmer, more rational state (rest and digest) and away from its sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight)

We then go over simple neuroscience, so you understand why your brain responds the way it does, which can feel really reassuring.

Next, you rate how you’ve been feeling out of 10, and we focus on what could move you just one step higher. We turn that into a small, realistic goal and visualise doing it.

The final part is hypnosis. You relax on your bed or sofa while I guide you into a calm, focused state, helping reinforce the positive changes.

All sessions are done over Zoom, so you can do this from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are in the world.

Over time, these small steps build up — helping you feel calmer, more in control, and more like yourself again.

Small steps really do add up!
Solution focused therapy is all about building on what’s going well and gently moving forward from there.

It has been amazing getting an extra hour of sunlight so far this week and my 1% has been taking a simple walk after dinner, and that’s led to watching these beautiful sunsets in the process.

What’s your 1%??

Decision fatigue is real.
Anxiety around decisions often isn’t about the choice itself — it’s about fear of getting it wrong.

Simplify where you can.
Listen to your gut.
And remember: there is no perfect decision.

Did you know our brains go into therapy every night if we let them?

During REM sleep, the brain processes emotional experiences and reduces their intensity — almost like overnight therapy for the nervous system.

When sleep is disrupted, the primitive brain (your built-in survival system) becomes louder, scanning for threat and making you more reactive, anxious, or overwhelmed.

But when you get quality sleep, the intellectual brain — the calm, rational part — is far more able to lead.

This is why supporting your nervous system matters. Relaxation, hypnotherapy, and intentional wind-down routines can help the brain access the deeper sleep it needs to reset.

Because when your brain is rested, you can cope so much better with anything that comes your way 😅

Your nervous system will thank you if you prioritise your sleep 😴

Your brain runs on chemical messengers called neurotransmitters 🧠
They shape how you feel, think, sleep, focus, and cope with stress.

Swipe to learn:
• Why cortisol isn’t “bad”
• What serotonin really does
• How your nervous system gets stuck in survival mode
• And how hypnotherapy can help bring things back into balance

This isn’t about “fixing” yourself.
It’s about helping your brain feel safe enough to work properly again 🤍

Save this for later, and share with someone whose nervous system needs a little kindness today.

Happy New Year!

This year doesn’t have to be forcing or fixing in any way. For me, so far in my training, what has been important is teaching my case studies to take small steps towards lasting change as this how the real work gets done. Rome was not built in a day!
So I’m taking these small steps as I progress in my field of work.
Slowing down, breathing deeper, speaking to myself kindly, protecting my energy, setting my boundaries, progressing (no pressure) and continuing to smile while enjoying the ride ♥️
