Dear Customers
I am currently in Cyprus looking after my mum while she recuperates from an operation. If I am preoccupied and don't get back to you, it's because I am busy worrying about wether there will even be a Cyprus left by the end of the week. If you haven't heard already there have been drone strikes thus far, fortunately with little damage. I am not local to Akrotiri, but Dekelia is also under threat and to be honest neither is exactly far . It's only a small island. Not sure what's yet to come....

I don't always need a definitive diagnosis to help you achieve your goals. Sometimes looking at the whole picture will also give us some amazing insights about your body.

Hypermobility doesn't mean there won't be limitations in ROM, or that the client won't feel stiffness.

Clients with obvious muscle tone can also have imbalances . Such patterns emerge as part of an overall picture, lifestyle and job influences, natural posture, hypermobile joints.... It just means there needs to be some additional focus on specific areas.

I've ascertained by the power of observation and application of relevant tests that some muscle groups need to catch up in strength with the more dominant ones.

A first appointment will get you an assessment and a treatment plan and a review session further down the line will ensure we are maintaining that goal , marking any necessary tweaks along the way.

You are the expert on your body, whilst I have studied and read a text book or two, I'm not you and neither is the client I saw before you or after you. As a Tiger I pride myself on taking everyone at their individual places, I let you tell me what your experiences of your body are. How you are feeling, how you internalise and what your thresholds are... You are more important than a text book definition .

On that note, meeting a client with the language they use is also of great significance to demonstrating gratitude and mutual respect. So, if a client refers to a trigger point as a knot, my job is not to correct that and therefore refrain from using that description, because "I'm an expert" my job, is to connect and be realistic, authentic and practise with integrity. So yes I will say "knot" because I come from the assumption that any reasonable adult knows their muscle doesn't literally become a knot.(Even those of us who take a lot literally ) But language forms a part of how you communicate what's happening for you.

I am not taking part in the interclub today for various reasons but I cannot express my gratitude towards this human enough. Samwise from for introducing me to K1 which is a sport I have grown with and even stepped out of my comfort zone to take part in interclubs.
