PrEP is highly effective against HIV, but it doesn't replace testing.

PrEP doesn't prevent other STIs so it works best when used along with condoms and regular testing.

It's also good to have regular confirmation that you don't have HIV and that the PrEP is working as expected.

Book an appointment for testing in clinic:

Or order a order a free self-test for delivery to your door:

If you're thinking about new healthy habits to form this year, don't forget to consider your sexual health.

Routine testing is important for maintaining good sexual health as many STIs have no symptoms.

We recommend testing at least once a year, so tick something off the 2026 to-do list and book your appointment to visit our clinic.

Make sure you have enough PrEP and condoms to last you through the festive period.

We'll be pausing our services over Christmas and New Year so if you need any sexual health care or HIV support from us, now is the time to visit.

If you need sexual health care while we're closed, visit the Brighton & Hove Sexual Health and Contraception Service (SHAC). You can check their opening hours at https://brightonsexualhealth.com/

If SHAC is closed and you need PEP, remember you can always go to A&E at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

The festive period can be tricky. There's often pressure to commit to plans that may involve alcohol and other substances. This can throw you off your usual routine and add extra stress.

If you need some help, you can always contact us or visit our clinic for some extra guidance.

For specialised recovery support, you can reach out to our friends at the Change Grow Live Brighton and Hove Recovery Service. Their team can help at any stage of your journey, even if you're not dependant.

Thank you to everyone who braved the wind and rain to come and support us this World AIDS Day. Your generous donations enable us to continue our year round work to support people living with HIV and to work towards ending new cases of HIV in the UK by 2030.

A big thank you to the wonderful Sally Vate for hosting all the performers including Ophelia Payne, Joe Black, Portia, Marsha Mallow, Gabriella Parish and Rose Garden.

Special thanks to the staff at Charles Street Tap and all the volunteers who made the event so successful.
