August 8 is the best day of 2021 to manifest your dreams. Not only will the Leo new moon bring us closer to attaining our innermost visions, but it is also believed that an ancient, mystical portal will be unlocked in the universe to help our intentions take flight.

The Lion’s Gate portal fills the sky from July 28 to August 12, but is thought to reach its peak on August 8.

What will you be doing to harness this energy and bring forth something that's really important to you?

Ancient Wisdom Modern Practice is back.

After a few months break and some revamping and extending, the course is back, and its bigger and better than ever.

This course covers extensive Physiology and Anatomy topics including the essential guide to pregnancy, birth and postpartum Hormonse and the essential role they play in the birthing year. In addition in session 2 you will also take an in-depth look at HypnoBirthing and Mindset (or set and setting).

Following that, you will take 2 Modules that focus on walking you through the birth process and covering many of the unknowns that may be part of your birthing journey. These sessions are all about being as well informed and prepared as you can be and understanding the concepts of informed consent and your rights as a birthing person.

These modules are presented by Radical Birthkeeper Kim Craig

This is followed by the amazing breastfeeding and Postpartum survival guide sessions presented by Tansy Bathurst who works as an MCA in the community providing breastfeeding and practical support for families during the intense period following the birth of a new baby.

As a welcome back offer we will be launching the new look Ancient Wisdom Modern Practice at the introductory offer of
£210.00

This will include a bonus Module all about the infant microbiome full of brand new information about this evolving and pioneering field of study.

I am so glad this is in the news because more providers need to know this as do birthing parents so they can advocate to keep the cord attached in the event that their newborn needs resuscitation.

And yet, we can also file this under "things community midwives already know."

Karen Strange has taught this in her neonatal resuscitation classes for years. This is not new information, but an excellent example of how it can take up to 20 years to integrate new evidence into clinical practice.

What is the standard of care in your community or hospital based practice? Clamp and then resuscitate or keep the cord attached?

"A world-first study has found babies who need CPR could be saved from brain damage if they're treated while their umbilical cord is still attached.

Melbourne researchers say they're excited by the discovery - which could change the way sick newborns are treated around the world."
