A little BTS of Tom preparing to give patients their PGT-A results✨

PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy) is a screening test used during IVF to check embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before they’re transferred to the uterus.

A few cells are carefully biopsied from each embryo (usually at the blastocyst stage).

This technique checks the number of chromosomes in an embryo. A normal embryo has 46 chromosomes and If there are too many or too few (called aneuploidy), it can lead to: Failed implantation, miscarriage and genetic conditions like down syndrome.

PGT-A can help: Increase chances of a successful pregnancy, reduce risk of miscarriage and Improve embryo selection. It’s often recommended for women over 35, recurrent miscarriages and multiple failed IVF cycles.
