Scar tissue is a connective tissue that replaces pre-injury tissue after it is damaged.
At scar sites that experienced complication-free wound healing, & healthy scar development, functionality levels regained is said to be 70% of pre-injury levels (meaning post-injury, tissues never function the same again).
However, when there is delayed or interrupted healing & pathological scar formation, functionality regains can be as low as 30% compared to pre-injury levels.
If you experienced delayed or problematic healing, or if have a pathological scar, Scar Work Therapy may be able to help with sensation/mobility/integration.
