Calpol - help or hinder?
Are antipyretic drugs, like Calpol, as harmless as we are led to believe? As a Homeopath and Mother, I personally avoid them, simply because there so many natural tools I use instead. See courses below.
From a holistic health point of view - antipyretic drugs work against the body. They bring a fever down, when the body working hard to raise its temperature to create an inhospitable environment. An increased temperature also stimulates the immune system.
Just two reasons, there are many more. But I feel you, I know that pink sticky syrup does help in the moment⦠it does make your child feel better, and as parents that is what we want for our children - to be out of pain and discomfort, to be ok⦠but this is short term view. To truly promote your childās health is to support the body. To have a fever, is uncomfortable, no- one feels good but the gains are huge.
