Could you donate a gift that would help make an older adult’s Christmas a little brighter? Whether you’d like to buy something new or donate an unused item, simply drop it off at one of our collection points. Home Instead will make sure your generous gifts reach older adults in need this Christmas.

The last day for donations is 15th December, with collections taking place shortly afterwards.

Buy a gift from Dobbies garden centre in Brighton or bring an unused gift from home/elsewhere which is suitable for an older adult.

You can drop the gift(s) at our collection points - either Dobbies Garden Centre (Brighton) or our Home Instead office in Portslade.

We'll make sure it reaches someone who needs a reminder they're not forgotten this Christmas.

'Be a Santa' this Christmas! 🎅✨

This festive season, older adults in our community shouldn't feel forgotten. We've partnered with Dobbies Garden Centre in Brighton to make sure older adults recieve the gift of joy.

How you can help:
Simply drop an unwrapped gift into one of our collection boxes. Our volunteers will deliver them with care. It's that easy! 🎁

For we pause to honour all those who have served, sacrificed, and stood for peace. We give thanks to the men and women whose courage shaped the freedoms we enjoy today.

We also hold in our thoughts the older veterans in our local community, whose stories and experiences continue to inspire us.

When you attend the funeral of a client for whom her whole Home Instead team went out of their way to enable her to stay, and end her days, at home - and of the 8 attendees 5 of us were from Home Instead, all of whom cared about her wellbeing deeply, I can’t help but feel proud of our team and our work.
We no longer use the tag line “to us it’s personal” - but it really is.

Remember, Remember…. safety this Bonfire Night! 🎆

As fireworks light up the sky tonight, the noise and cold can cause unexpected distress for many older people in our community. This year, help keep your loved ones comfortable and secure by taking these simple steps:

- Muffle the noise: Close windows and draw curtains before it gets dark to minimise the startling bangs and flashes
- Stay warm: Ensure warm clothes are layered up, and hot, comfortable drinks are on hand
- Offer comfort: Provide reassuring company or a distracting activity if the noise causes anxiety, especially for those with dementia.
