World Mental Health Day 🧠🫀
Working in the wellbeing sector, I am so grateful that I get to create a space where people feel safe to offload mentally whilst receiving a treatment to feel improved physically. In a world where we are contactable 24/7 by phones, connected beyond normal human capacities, it can all be very overwhelming. Through these powerful little grids on instagram we can all remind ourselves that we are human, that everything doesn’t look so put together. Sadly, seeking help through means such as the NHS can be too long, resources are zapped and people become stuck. Fortunately there are such charities like that are there to help in times of need. On my platform today, I thought I’d share things that help me through anxious times that may help you too.
1. I am so grateful to have moved to live by the sea. Sunset runs like these make the upheaval of our lives back home and the struggles of being self employed all worth it. Breathing in that sea air, there’s nothing like it. Getting out and moving is vital.
2. One of my favourite fiction and non fiction authors with two of his books, truly life changing and my must reads. Easy to pick up in times of need.
3. Cooking. For me getting my pasta maker out and making things from scratch, watching each ingredient turn into something so delicious. A real slower of time and a pure delight.
4. Two of my go to podcasts for really insightful listens. Often when I’m on a long car journey or a walk, I find I learn a lot from listening to these.
5. Look up. Although I’ve spent time typing on this platform, it’s so healthy to have time away from our phones to look up at what’s around us. Enlighten your senses, they’ll thank you for it.
We’re all on this wild and wonderful journey together, and all we have are each other. Talk, listen and don’t be afraid ❤️
