Wishing you all a magical Christmas! To those that find this time of year difficult, you are stronger than you think and sending light to you. Reflecting on what has been such a special year of work for me. Incredibly grateful to each and every one of you that have supported my small business this year. It really means the world. All the best for the new year ahead, I hope it’s a great one for you all. Lots of love, Beth x

World Mental Health Day 🧠🫀

Working in the wellbeing sector, I am so grateful that I get to create a space where people feel safe to offload mentally whilst receiving a treatment to feel improved physically. In a world where we are contactable 24/7 by phones, connected beyond normal human capacities, it can all be very overwhelming. Through these powerful little grids on instagram we can all remind ourselves that we are human, that everything doesn’t look so put together. Sadly, seeking help through means such as the NHS can be too long, resources are zapped and people become stuck. Fortunately there are such charities like that are there to help in times of need. On my platform today, I thought I’d share things that help me through anxious times that may help you too.

1. I am so grateful to have moved to live by the sea. Sunset runs like these make the upheaval of our lives back home and the struggles of being self employed all worth it. Breathing in that sea air, there’s nothing like it. Getting out and moving is vital.

2. One of my favourite fiction and non fiction authors with two of his books, truly life changing and my must reads. Easy to pick up in times of need.

3. Cooking. For me getting my pasta maker out and making things from scratch, watching each ingredient turn into something so delicious. A real slower of time and a pure delight.

4. Two of my go to podcasts for really insightful listens. Often when I’m on a long car journey or a walk, I find I learn a lot from listening to these.

5. Look up. Although I’ve spent time typing on this platform, it’s so healthy to have time away from our phones to look up at what’s around us. Enlighten your senses, they’ll thank you for it.

We’re all on this wild and wonderful journey together, and all we have are each other. Talk, listen and don’t be afraid ❤️

Experiencing the Sunday scaries? BW Massage Therapy’s top 3 tips for coping with anxieties of the week ahead:

• Focus your attention to what you’re doing now; what can you hear, smell, see? Being present in what you’re currently doing can silence a busy mind.

• Set a few achievable goals for the week ahead. These can be things such as, going for a lunchtime walk, reaching out to a friend, planning to cook a nice dinner or having a bath. Something easy to achieve that will make you feel good.

• If your mind is busy approaching bedtime on a Sunday evening, write down on paper or on your phone all of the things that are racing around. Once you’ve physically written/typed and seen them in front of you, picture them leaving your head, one word at a time. They might not seem as bad as you think.

January can feel long and daunting, but it’s also a great opportunity to give it all you’ve got. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup, so look after yourself.

I am feeling very grateful for my first two weeks of work in January, where I’ve welcomed lots of new lovely faces! It’s a real joy to be apart of your self care journey but it means so much in January where it can be a tight month for most. Happy Sunday all and here’s to a fab week ahead 💫

A reminder to be gentle with yourself in January. In a month full of fitness fads and damaging diet culture, social media can be really overwhelming. Are you liking the things you see? Are you feeling better or worse after a 15 minute scroll?

It can take a moment like right now, sat in my treatment room watching the falling sun reflecting its rays on this muscular system image, to think how spectacular our bodies are. Let’s take care of our magical machines; move to feel good, absorb positive information, surround yourself with the right people and be kind to your mind. I hope you’re all having a good start to 2024, and if you aren’t, brighter days are ahead 💛
