What Does 'Low Cost' Mean?

Our low cost group therapy service is facilitated by Trainee Group Analyst Iwona Munia, who is also a Clinical Psychologist and Special Education Teacher. Iwona has a wide range of professional experience, and has supported adults with complex mental health needs through therapeutic group work for many years. This low cost group forms part of her training in the specific psychotherapeutic modality of Group Analysis, and is therefore offered at a reduced rate.

Our Hove centre in the sunshine, ready to welcome today's clients ☀️

Located on Church Road, we're easily accessible on foot or by bus, and the train station is just a short walk away too. We've got lots of lovely cafés on our doorstep for a coffee or a bite to eat nearby (we particularly love BAKED and The Botanist Coffee Co. and we're close to the seafront, St Ann's Well Gardens, and Hove Park if you're looking for somewhere to reflect or take some time for yourself after your session.

If you're closer to Brighton, you can find us there too! Our original namesake centre is situated on New Road right beside Puzzle Bored coffee shop, Brighton Dome, The Royal Pavilion Gardens and Pavilion Gardens Cafe.

We offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults, young people and children, with services for individuals, couples and groups. Low cost therapy is available for anyone who may find finances a barrier to seeking support: £27 for 1:1 sessions, and £17 for group therapy.

The bluebells at Stanmer Park are looking beautiful at the moment - this is your sign to go and seek them out this weekend if you haven't already!

We're so lucky here in Brighton & Hove to be surrounded by so many wonderful wild spaces and landscapes, from the rolling hills of the Downs, to winding paths through the woods, to the open expanse of the sea.

Spending time in nature is a well-known way to support our physical and mental wellbeing, and spring is the perfect season to explore our own version of growth as the land returns to green.

Just a few weeks to go, and you really don't want to miss this special gathering!

CPD Sussex warmly invites you to 'An Evening with Keith Tudor', taking place on Friday 22nd May at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, Brighton.

With over 40 years of deep, original thinking across psychotherapy, mental health, humanistic psychology, transactional analysis, and the politics of care, Keith Tudor is a key figure in the field of therapy. This in itself is reason alone to join us, but you also might like to attend because...

💡 Although you may know Keith's published work well, his presence and conversation in person will offer something even richer.
💡 The format will be open and participatory, creating a space for meaningful conversation rather than just passive listening. Bring your curiosity, your experiences, and your questions!
💡 Therapeutic work can be heavy and complex, and spending time in community with fellow practitioners can help replenish your resources.

🗓️ Friday 22nd May, 7–9pm
📍 Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, Brighton, BN2 1RL
🎟️ £30 + Eventbrite booking fee

'Regulation' has become a buzz-word in the therapy and wellness space, but what does it really mean?

Last Thursday we had the privilege of hosting the Brighton Wellness Festival Community's first in-person Meet & Connect event at our Hove centre, which brought together a room full of inspiring wellbeing practitioners to consider this very question.

We opened with a reflection and meditation led by New Road's Clinical Director Rory, before diving into an enriching conversation that explored the gifts and shadows of regulation: how certain practices and perspectives can bring calm, while others - dressed up in the same language - can exert control. We sat with the tension between regulation and restriction, and made space for the important truth that, for many people, 'relaxing' doesn't feel simple or safe when the world doesn't welcome who you really are.

What does regulation mean to you? Let us know in the comments...

And if you're a therapist or wellness professional looking to meet other likeminded practitioners and be part of discussions like this - join the Brighton Wellness Festival Community! We hope to see you at a future gathering 💚

There's a Buddhist teaching about two arrows. The first symbolises life's unavoidable pain (grief, loss, uncertainty) and the second represents how we respond: the self-blame, the resistance, the feeling that something is 'wrong' with us for struggling.

Though therapy can't stop the first arrow from landing, it can help you work with the second. Seeking support won't take away the inescapable complexity of human existence, but it can change your relationship with it.

It's the details that make all the difference...

From the gentle resonance of singing bowls to the softness of an ornamental rug underfoot, our centres have been thoughtfully designed to help you feel at ease. We believe that environment shapes experience, and our hope is that walking into our spaces feels like releasing a breath you didn't know you were holding.

Our rooms reflect the heart of what we offer: therapy that is warm, human, and deeply considered. Every object tells a story and holds an intention, and when you step through our doors, we hope you can you feel that care welcoming you in. Here you can think, feel and simply be - with openness and compassionate curiosity.
