A gentle reminder to do more of what makes your soul light up. Life moves fast, and it’s easy to get caught up in the grind, but the things that bring you joy aren’t just luxuries they’re essentials. Whether it’s a walk in the sun, dancing to your favourite song, buying yourself flowers, booking yourself a massage or spending time with people who lift you up, make space for it this weekend. We’re finally getting the Summer weather we’ve been hoping for here in the UK 🙌🏽 It’s been absolutely glorious here in Brighton but sometimes the summer heat can become a little uncomfortable for some as it can lead to restlessness, difficulty falling asleep and frequent disturbances such as excess noise from open windows or overheating.

Did you know that small, seasonal shifts in your diet can lead to deeper, more restful sleep during the summer? As the days grow warmer and longer, our bodies naturally crave lighter, more hydrating. Incorporating cooling fruits like watermelon, cucumber or berries not only keeps you refreshed but supports your body’s night time repair. Starting the day with a Red Water Melon Smoothie with a dash of lime is amazing not only is it hydrating it’s full of antioxidants that protects the cells from damage and vitamin C that supports the immune system and overall health. It also supports muscle soreness so a great to consume pre-workout. Magnesium-rich foods like leafy greens, bananas, and pumpkin seeds can help relax muscles and calm the nervous system. Try avoiding heavy, spicy, or sugary meals close to bedtime, as they can disrupt digestion and interfere with sleep. A simple chamomile or lemon balm tea after dinner, paired with a mindful wind-down routine, can make all the difference. Nourish yourself in harmony with the season, and let food become a gentle ally in your summer sleep ritual.

Happy Heavenly Birthday & Father’s Day, Dad!

Today would have been your 98th birthday, and though the years have passed since you left us, not a day goes by that your presence isn’t felt in my heart. Your memory lives on in the quiet moments, in the lessons you taught me, and in the strength you showed, even in your absence. I close my eyes and send my love up to heaven, hoping it reaches you somehow. Happy Heavenly Birthday, and Happy Father’s Day. I miss you more than words can say, and I love you always.

On this special day, I also want to extend my love and warm wishes to all the amazing Dads out there, Grandad’s Uncles, Step-Dads and the single Dad’s who give their all. And let’s not forget the incredible single Mum’s who had to be both mother and father your strength and love deserve just as much celebration today.

May today be a day of gratitude, reflection, and love for all those who’ve taken on the role of “Dad” in one way or another.

As we mark Mental Health Awareness Week from 12th–18th May, it’s important to shine a light on an often-overlooked pillar of wellbeing: sleep. Many people underestimate how vital quality rest is to our mental and physical health. Sleep deprivation is closely linked to anxiety, depression, diminished cognitive function, and even physical conditions like obesity. It can also undermine your overall health and success in both personal and professional life. One powerful, natural way to support restful sleep and emotional balance is through essential oils. While Lavender is commonly chosen for its calming effects, those who struggle to mentally switch off may benefit more from Vetiver. This grounding oil works deeply on an emotional level and promotes truly restorative rest. It blends beautifully with Sandalwood and Chamomile. Vetiver can be added to a warm (not too hot) bath simply mix 4–6 drops with a tablespoon of your favourite carrier oil and soak for at least 15 minutes. Vetiver also complements Clary Sage, Cedarwood, Jasmine, Patchouli, Rose, Ginger, Ylang Ylang, and citrus oils, making it a versatile and valuable addition to your mental wellness toolkit.

Rest Well

2 drops of Vetiver
2 drops of Sandalwood
3 drops of Camomile

Add to a tablespoon of your favourite carrier oil add to your bath or you can decanter into a coloured bottle. Shake well and add a few drops to your wrist and neck or you can defuse in a diffuser, vaporiser or oil burner in your bedroom before you go to bed to create a calming, peaceful, grounding atmosphere.
