When you get a good poem, I find it can speak directly to your core. You can meditate on it, understand and feel so much through those few words 🌸
Three of my favourite are Rumi, Hafiz and Danna Faulds.

Even
After
All this time
The Sun never says to the Earth
‘You owe me.’
Look
What happens
With a love like that.
It lights the
Whole
Sky.

I teach every Wednesday evening Hatha yoga 6-7.15pm at West Hill Hall,

and every Sunday evening yoga and meditation 6-7.30pm at About Balance.

While moving and stretching the body through sun salutations and postures, classes have a focus of moving inwards.. calming the mind, feeling, feeling the breath, and becoming quiet. 🙏🏻

See you next time! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

✨This photo I found from India two years ago, on a day off from yoga training. Making lotus mudra in the sun.🌞

The heart chakra 💗 is connected to our compassion, love, forgiveness, loneliness, sorrow, expansion, air element, generosity, trust.

To connect to this energy wheel, one pose you can do is to lie your back over a bolster or equivalent.
Make yourself comfortable, with a rolled up blanket under the knees, or the knees bent and feet planted on the floor. Then rest. 💗

I want to connect with nature every day 🍁🌿🌻
Even if it’s in a small way.
I think it’s good for mental health, for feeling calm, grounded, peaceful, and for feeling like you have a bigger perspective on things.
Like the benefits of meditation!

This was a muddy walk yesterday, next time I might be braver and put my bare feet in the mud. 🍂

🌞The benefits of sun salutations (surya namaskars) is very deep. I usually include 2 rounds near the start of a class. 🙏🏻

Here is a passage from a book by Sadhguru called Inner engineering, a yogis guide to joy:

‘Those who do surya namaskars regularly find that their batteries last longer, with less need for recharge or replenishment. Additionally, the surya namaskar aids the balance or reorganisation of inner energies, in terms of right and left, or lunar and solar dimensions. This produces an innate physical and psychological equilibrium that can be an enormous asset in ones daily life.’ ✨

‘Let go of something, somewhere.
Use yoga to become aware,
to touch what lies beneath the surface of the skin.’

Part of a Danna Faulds poem, ‘Let go of something.’ 🦋

As a yoga teacher, it’s important to remain a yoga student 🙏🏻

Luckily for me, and through the powers of technology, I’ve started practicing again with such an incredible and inspiring teacher from the teacher training courses I’ve completed with School of Santhi. 💗💗💗

I’m so grateful!

Teaching yoga is also a lifelong commitment to learning and practicing yoga.

Yoga in Brighton

I offer traditional yoga classes in Brighton at various venues. I trained in India with the School of Santhi.

A varied sequence of postures is worked through with breath awareness. I include mudra, and sometimes incorporate awareness of the Ckakra energy centres. Some of the classes include pranayama and meditation practices.

Yoga builds your awareness of body and breath. These classes offer the space to connect, and calm the mind from its many fluctuations.

All the classes are affordable, with concession rates available and are also available through MoveGB.
