On Friday, 14th March, the Downs Crematorium held a tribute evening in honour of our Mums leading towards Mother’s Day.
It was a wonderful evening of live music, readings, and poetry.
Simon Jefferies from Jefferies Funeral Directors was invited to speak about his experience as a Funeral Director.

“I always consider it a privilege to arrange and conduct a funeral, and I get to sit at the back of the service and listen to the wonderful life stories of my families and their loved ones”.

Simon ended his narrative with a poem about Mums.

Direct Cremation or Un-Attended Cremation

There is no difference between the Direct Cremation or the Un-Attended.
Usually, the term means that your loved one is collected and brought into care, there is No service to attend, (your loved one maybe taken to another county for the cremation) you cannot say goodbye to your loved one in a chapel of rest and you just collect the ashes in a few days’ time.
The difference with using Jefferies Funeral Directors for a Direct Cremation is that the cremation will take place at either Woodvale or the Downs Crematorium in Brighton.
Should you wish to visit our chapel of rest and say goodbye to your loved one and perhaps place special items with them (Teddy Bears, Photo’s etc) then you can.
