SH Virtu Helping you, help others. Hi, I'm Siân. Ocean-lover, moonchild, business owner, and Mum.

With over 15 years experience, from luxury skin care & makeup to ethical yoga wear, financial services, and baking, I began working as a virtual assistant in 2022. As a creative thinker, I thrive on generating fresh ideas and providing innovative solutions to promote your business differently. Simultaneously, I have a passion for systems and processes, allowing me to streamline your operations effectively. So whether it's finding a way to share your knowledge & experience online, designing a poster for an event or migrating hundreds of clients between CRM platforms and organising your email inbox, I am the perfect person to ease some of the pressure you're putting on yourself to "do it all." Let me take on some of those tasks you find most challenging or time consuming, or that you just can't stand doing, so you can spend more time on whatever it is you love to do.

International Women’s Day is almost here, and while I love a celebration, I know that 'one more thing to post' can feel heavy when your to-do list is already at capacity.

I’ve put together 10 simple ideas for how you can mark the day on Instagram this weekend - lightening that load just a little!

From highlighting a fellow female founder to sharing the 'why' behind your business, these are designed to help you show up with clarity and heart.

At the heart of it, my mission is simple: to help you, so you can help others. Whether it is brainstorming a spark of inspiration or streamlining the systems that keep your business running, I’ve got your back.

Which one are you planning to share?

Let me know in the comments, and be sure to tag me in your post when you share it on Sunday, I'd love to see!

I’ve been chewing on a specific "opportunity" I saw advertised this week, and honestly, it’s left me feeling quite unsettled.

The details are in the slides, but the heart of the issue for me is this: when did we decide that "wellness" could be built on the back of unpaid labour?

In my working life I’ve seen how easy it is for the heavy work behind the scenes to become invisible.

In the wellness space, we talk a lot about soul, alignment, and "knowing your worth." But when a luxury business model relies on 30 hours a week of unpaid energy, those values start to feel a bit hollow.

I’m all for community and creative exchange. I’ve traded my skills as a makeup artist countless times in exchange for portfolio shots, and I still love collaborating with people when the benefit is mutual.

But there is a line between a supportive trade and an exploitative one.

When we ask people to work for free in a commercial setting, we aren’t just saving on overheads. We are actively narrowing the field. We are saying that only those who can afford to work for nothing are welcome to be part of the "dream."

It turns wellness into an exclusive club rather than an inclusive community.

My mission with SH Virtu has always been to help women build businesses that are sustainable and authentic. To me, that means creating systems where everyone involved is valued. I’ve learned that how we treat the people supporting us is just as important as how we treat our clients.

I don't have all the answers, but this particular "work exchange" model doesn't sit right with me.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. Is it time we looked closer at the "behind the scenes" of the retreat industry?

Let’s chat in the comments. 👇

Someone asked me about my skincare routine yesterday, and honestly? It was the ultimate compliment.

As someone who hits the big 4-0 this year, hearing that made my day! But the truth is, my skin has seen it all. With a background in luxury cosmetics, I’ve tried everything - from the £2 supermarket steals to the £100+ "miracle" serums.

The one brand I always, always come back to? Neal’s Yard Remedies.

I fell in love with them over 20 years ago when I first moved to Glasgow and visited their shop in Royal Exchange Square.

A few years later, while working as a makeup artist, I made a commitment to swap my entire kit to cruelty-free products. I became a consultant then, and I haven't looked back.

In case you’re wondering what’s currently keeping my skin happy (and pictured here):

🔸I double cleanse with the Wild Rose Beauty Balm followed by the Sensitive Soothing Cleansing Milk.
🔸A quick spritz of Frankincense Toner.
🔸Finishing with the Frankincense Nourishing Moisturiser.

I love how it feels, I love the scent, and I love that it’s natural. And bonus, those blue bottles look beautiful in my bathroom!

While I don’t actively "run" that side of my business anymore, I’m still a consultant because I believe in it that much. I still buy it for friends, family, and myself.

So if you’re ever curious about making the switch to cleaner skincare or just want to know what I use, my inbox is always open for a chat!

Running a small business means being real about the numbers. I’ve set this weekend as the deadline to decide if the reKindle retreat goes ahead.

The truth? We aren’t quite there yet.

I created this retreat because I know exactly what it’s like to juggle the demands of business, family, and life. I wanted to provide a space where you could finally breathe and focus on what you love most, while I handle the meticulous details and the heavy lifting.

If you’ve been meaning to book but life got in the way (believe me, I get it!), I’d love for you to take five minutes for yourself today to check the link in my bio.

I really want to be there to have your back. Let’s make this happen together.

Visit shvirtu.com/rekindle, or DM me to chat through any hesitations.

Have you met 'Fawn'? She’s the fourth guest in the fight, flight, and freeze model. 🫠

I was recently reading about the 'fawn' stress response, and it struck me how often this shows up for women in business.

Fawning is when we seek safety by pleasing, appeasing, or prioritising everyone else’s needs above our own.

In your business or workplace, it often looks like:

- Over-agreeing to deadlines that feel impossible.
- Avoiding "difficult" or tedious tasks to keep the peace elsewhere.
- Taking on extra work just to maintain harmony, even when your plate is already overflowing.

As a VA, I see this a lot.

You think you’re being helpful, but it’s not sustainable. It leads to a dysregulated nervous system, neglected client relationships, a loss of focus on the passion that started the business in the first place, and eventually burnout.

The good news? You can rewire those unhealthy patterns. This is exactly why I created Rekindle. 🌿

If you've been in "fawn" mode for too long and elements of your work are feeling heavy, Rekindle is designed to clear the slate.

It's about streamlining your workflows organising your digital world, and developing your own self-help toolkit, so you can stop reacting to everyone else and start leading your business again.

Does this resonate with you? I know I am definitely prone to either Fly (run away) or Fawn when it comes to things feeling difficult!

If you need a little TLC to get back on track, drop me a DM about Rekindle.

Are you overpaying for your AI?

ChatGPT has become the "Hoover" or "Sellotape" of the AI world - it’s the name we all know and default to. But just because it’s the most famous doesn’t mean it’s the only (or the best) option for your business.

If you’re already running your business on Google Workspace, you’re likely already paying for Gemini Pro without even realising it.

I’ve recently moved my own processes over from ChatGPT to Gemini, and it’s been a total breath of fresh air. The responses feel a bit more "human" and intuitive, which makes it a brilliant partner for working through my ideas.

But a little word of caution: AI is here to do the legwork and save you time, not to replace your soul. Copying and pasting straight from any AI is a bit of a red flag - it’s usually quite obvious and can really put people off.

Your audience is here for your voice!

I use Gemini to get the ball rolling, but I always proofread, fact-check, and add that final human touch to make sure it aligns with my values.

Would you like me to share a post on exactly how I migrated all the knowledge and custom instructions I had in ChatGPT over to Gemini?

Let me know in the comments if you're curious, or tell me - are you still team ChatGPT by default, or going to give Gemini a try?
