📢 Missed Appointments in August

In August, we had 202 missed appointments (DNAs) at Nightingale Valley Practice.

That’s 202 appointments that could have been offered to other patients in need.

Please remember to cancel your appointment if you can’t attend – even a short notice cancellation allows us to offer the slot to someone else. You cancel using the NHS app, the reminder link of your appointment, contacting reception on the usual number or for appointments more than 72 hours away submitting an admin eConsult.

🗣You Said👂We Listened
Recently, we sent a survey to patients about our current clinical system, gaining over 1000 responses - so thank you all for participating!!
The results overwhelmingly showed patients are unhappy with the current e-consultation system and it was difficult to use, inaccessible and doesn't provide enough options!

We have taken this feedback on board and coming in the Autumn will be Klinik, our new e-consultation system which will be more intuitive, ask more focused questions about concerns and allow the e-consultation system to filter different types of requests more effectively.

If you’re eligible for the HPV vaccine, don’t miss your chance to protect yourself from cancers caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) — including cervical some other types of cancer.

You would be offered it at Secondary School but if you are in between the ages of 16-24 and think you have missed a vaccination or would like to check if you had the vaccination; please contact reception using the e-consult system.

Childhood vaccines protect your little ones from serious illnesses like measles and whooping cough — diseases that spread easily among children who aren’t vaccinated.

✅ Check your child’s Red Book or speak to our GP surgery to make sure they’re up to date.
📅 If any vaccines have been missed, we can arrange a catch-up.

📢 Important Notice from Nightingale Valley Practice

In the month of July, 345 patients did not attend their scheduled appointments (DNAs).

These missed appointments represent valuable clinical time that could have been used to support other patients in need.

We kindly ask all patients to cancel in advance if they are unable to attend. This helps us improve access and reduce waiting times for everyone.

For appointments that need to be cancelled on the same day we ask you call reception for that appointment to be cancelled as quickly as possible. For any cancellations that are not the same day please use the admin feature on our E-Consult system.

Please remember to cancel if you can’t make it – it only takes a moment and helps us care for more people.

HRTea and Biscuits

Are you experiencing symptoms of menopause or perimenopause?

Join us for a friendly, informative Menopause Education Session right here at your GP surgery.
At Nightingale Valley Practice we are in the process of addressing this by running menopause education session, called HRTea and Biscuits.

Our aim is to give women up to date, accurate, evidence based information about the menopause and the various options available for menopause care.

Our sessions cover the definition of menopause, symptoms, treatment options, myth busting and explaining hormone replacement therapy use and its health benefits.
We hope to empower women to make informed decisions about their care during what can be a difficult time for many.

If you think this is something you would like to attend, we have a few spots left for our session this Saturday, 9th August at 9:30am. Please complete the below form if you are able to and want to attend, someone will send a text notification to you confirming your place. We look forward to seeing you there.
