Join our Patient Group!
What to have a say in improvements within the practice? Why not join our patient group!
🔳What is a Patient Participation Group (PPG)?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients, carers for patients, and GP practice staff who meet to discuss practice issues and patient experience to improve the service. The group currently meets face-to-face every 3-months.
🔳What is the purpose of the PPG?
The group gives patients and practice staff the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest and provides a means for patients to become more involved, making suggestions about the services they receive.
🔳What can a PPG do?
It is a place to discuss constructive suggestions for improving the practice and share concerns that could affect the wider practice population.
🔳What can the PPG not do?
PPG members cannot provide medical advice to other patients. It also is not a place to deal with personal/ medical issues or individual patient complaints during the meetings. These should be dealt with outside the meeting following the practice's already established procedures.
🔳What do patient get out of having a patient group?
You will get the opportunity to be more involved in the practice, make improvement suggestions and learn more about GP practice.
As a practice, the PPG benefit us as we get to hear patient experiences and differing view points that may have not otherwise been considered.
