Mental Health Awareness Week 💛

Mental Health is something we all live with. Fact.
Whether some choose to distract, numb, avoid from their feelings, others are showing up, being vulnerable to take care of theirs and I think that's really brave.

It's not just about looking after our own Mental health, it's about the shared responsibility of acknowledging the mental health of others around us, and opening that doorway to let them walk through it when they are ready to do the work.

Strugglint with your mental health can be a scary and isolating place. By being open and vulnerable, you can inspire those around you and let them know it's okay to walk this path.

Wherever you are in this journey that's okay, but let's try to offer love and support & not put others down or undermine the incredibly difficult work someone else may be doing to better their mental health

Monday morning movement ❤

Found my little space this morning, with my cup of tea, the sun was shining, listening to the birds singing to moving my body, it was bliss.

Although I know it helps me, I don't get on my mat everyday, I try to install this message to my lovely clients is that part of helping yourself is the flexibility and compassion that you may not do something all of the time, even when you know it helps you and that's more than okay. It's about using what helps you when you notice needing it that's really important, and even then sometimes that doesn't always happen, part of the compassionate work is to cut yourself some slack.

Part of my work is helping others to understand the philosophy of yoga. That you don't need to be on a mat everyday to practice yoga, you can take a few moments to connect to your breath, or sit and notice how your body is feeling today, or even practice self-compassion all of which are yoga.

So maybe, just maybe you are already doing more than you give yourself credit for 😍

We made it! After 3 days of travelling over 2,000km through France and Spain, we are here.

Only arrived a few hours ago into the place we are staying for the next month, so still settling in, but it feels good to be back in Mallorca and a place that really feels like home for us, coming back after living here for 5 months in our van a few years ago.

Looking forward to dips in the sea everyday, working remotely, and all the adventures that come our way & of course learning Spanish.

Despite poor pickle having to be kept in the kennels overnight last night, which was a first for her, thankfully she is crate trained and seemed to be okay, she is settling in well and has already had her first dip in the sea 🌊

World Mental Health Day 2023 ♡

Each year on this day I take some time to sit and reflect on the significance of working in the mental health sector.

It is a really exciting time for the mental health, with psychedelic therapies being offered as an intervention, also a growing movement of somatic therapy and working with someone's whole being. Yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices growing in popularity and being prescribed by the NHS. Times are changing and it feels so exciting to be working toward a more holistic approach to therapy.

I feel very fortunate to be able to do my job both working as a CBT therapist for the NHS and offering Yoga Therapy for my lovely Mind To Movement clients. My clients inspire my everyday, and its a real privilege to walk alongside them in their journey of healing. To help share the load when days feel more difficult, to show them they are not alone. To show up each time for them, helping them connect to their compassionate and loving side. And of course my biggest passion helping them connect to their bodies and develop their mind-body connection.

Better late than never...

HAPPY 2022 GUYS ❤

Sorry I've been a little quiet on here, have been taking the time to process all the changes.

This year I will be stepping back from the lovely Mind To Movement community and wont be taking on any new clients sadly.

I am furthering my training within my NHS role, taking on a year of studying so that I will become an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for which I am so excited.

It definitely feels hard stepping back from something I love so much, but in the long run it's going to help me be more equipped to support you ❤

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY ❤

At the time it was extremely challenging struggling with my mental health, feeling like I didnt have coping techniques to manage how I was feeling.

Yoga became what helped me through a difficult time and continues to keep me balanced and grounded through the ups and downs of life.

Going through this journey with my mental health means I really deeply understand when my clients are going through similar difficulties.

I work with clients supporting them to develop self-care, connect their bodies and build self-compassion

Been really feeling the cold and the changes of winter recently, finding it hard transitioning seasons moving closer to depressing winter.

Something which always helps my mental health and shifts the winter blues is movement - whether that is working out, yoga or just having a dance ❤
