🧠 World Stroke Day – 29 October πŸ’™

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. On World Stroke Day, we’re raising awareness of the warning signs and how early action can save lives.

πŸ’¬ Know the FAST test:
F – Face: has it fallen on one side?
A – Arms: can they raise both arms and keep them there?
S – Speech: is their speech slurred or confused?
T – Time: call 999 immediately if you spot any of these signs.

🚨 Stroke is a medical emergency. The faster you act, the better the chance of recovery.

βœ… You can reduce your risk by managing blood pressure, quitting smoking, keeping active and eating well.

🩺 If you have concerns about your stroke risk, we’re here to help β€” speak to your GP or nurse.

Thank you for your feedback πŸ’¬

We’ve received some feedback from a small number of patients regarding a backlog during our COVID/flu clinic yesterday. This occurred around 11am while staff were on their break. Although the doors were reopened by 10:55am, a number of patients had arrived early, which led to a build-up of people in the corridor.

We try to encourage patients to arrive at their appointment time (rather than early), but we understand this can feel unusual compared to our standard daily practice appointments.

We really appreciate your patience and feedback - it helps us improve. For future clinics, we’ll look at adjusting our schedule to include a short gap after staff breaks to help prevent any similar backlogs.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation πŸ’™

🌟 Last night (Friday 10 October), some of our staff took part in the Shine Night Walk 10K in Bristol in support of Cancer Research UK! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβœ¨

We're so proud of their dedication and effort for such an important cause. πŸ’™ Every step taken helps fund vital research in the fight against cancer.

If you'd like to show your support, you can sponsor the team here:

🌟 A Huge Thank You! 🌟

Please join us in saying a massive thank you to all our amazing staff who worked at our first vaccination clinic of the season yesterday! (Thursday 9 October). Your hard work, efficiency, and friendly approach has not gone unnoticed - we truly appreciate everything you do πŸ’‰πŸ‘

We’re also incredibly grateful to all the patients who took the time to compliment our team - your kind words and thanks mean a lot and give everyone a real boost during these busy clinics πŸ’™

To help us keep things running efficiently for everyone, we kindly ask that patients arrive at their scheduled appointment time (not early). With so many people attending our clinics, arriving 15–20 minutes ahead of time can create a backlog in the stairwell and waiting areas.

Thank you for your continued patience, cooperation, and support!

πŸ‘‰ Next up: our Flu only clinic tomorrow (Saturday)! We look forward to seeing our pre booked patients then - and once again, please arrive at your appointment time to help keep things running smoothly.
