If you are currently taking oral medication for contraception, you will now be referred to the pharmacy to have your annual pill check and for any repeat prescriptions. Local pharmacies are now able to start patients on the contraceptive pill, complete annual contraceptive checks and issue prescriptions for patients aged 16-60 years old.

When this medication is requested, you will be referred to your local pharmacy who will contact you and discuss and issue medication. If there any queries they will contact us. Alternatively, you can visit your local pharmacy without contacting us and request the medication.

For patients who are taking the contraceptive pill for other reasons or who are not aged 16-60 years old, you can continue to request prescriptions at the surgery.

We have again today received our fruit delivery from The Banana Boat (Totterdown) in connection with Operation Community Hamper.

This fruit is free for all of our patients, please come in and help yourself.

NHS Cervical Screening Programme – Digital results launching September 2025

From September 2025, the NHS plans to start sending results from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, utilising the NHS App.

In September, those who have a negative test result will be notified of this by an NHS App message. It will also appear as an NHS App notification. If the NHS App message isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a failsafe.

Abnormal result letters will continue to be delivered by post for the time being.

This change follows the successful rollout of digital invitations and reminders in June 2025, where since the launch, 9 out of every 10 invitations are being sent digitally, with the remainder being sent by post.

🌳This Sunday, July 27th, naturalist Ed Drewitt will be launching the new tree trail around Kingswood Park. Join us to learn about all the trees in the park and who lives in them! 🦉🦇🐜
🕐Walks will start at 12noon, 1pm and 2pm. Meet us by the bandstand. All welcome!
🎷This will be followed by Marshfield Band on the bandstand, 3-5pm.
