Hello! 👋 We are excited to announce our new timetable of Forest Therapy workshops after being granted funding from the National Lottery. The sessions are for everyone and anyone and are held at The Green Barn within Leigh Woods .

These are FREE workshops. We're launching this new project at the end of June 2022 and we can't wait to get started!

See the timetable for 2022 here: www.wearelightbox.co.uk/humannatureproject and please follow our main Light Box Project CIC page - we'll be posting on there more frequently than here.

The Human Nature Project is Light Box’s community level response to the escalating public mental health crisis in the UK. The project provides free, professionally led forest therapy sessions, open to the general public.

As Autumn draws in, we’ve drawn the Human Nature Project pilot to a close - the final woodland workshop took place at Leigh Woods on 22 September. A huge thank you to everyone involved, including all our participants and volunteers. We’re now taking some time to evaluate the project and consider how it may run again in the future - so watch this space!🌲🌳🍂🍁 Photo: Sam Hobson

This why not register for one of our free woodland workshops and explore new ways to and care for your wellbeing. We'd also recommend checking-out the programme for Bristol’s Festival of Nature which begins today! www.bnhc.org.uk/festival-of-nature/

The UK’s largest free celebration of the natural world returns with a new look programme to help you connect with nature this summer.

Have you been taking part in National Walking Month? If you’re looking for more ways to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air, check out www.bristolwalkfest.com which runs until 31 May.

The month-long celebration of all things walking throughout the city will take place from 1st to 31st May 2021 and, due to the ongoing uncertainties, will offer more of an individual and small group experience throughout the national walking month of May.

Today is the International Day of Forests. One of the themes being highlighted this year is the role of forests in recovery and wellbeing. Here in Bristol, our upcoming free woodland workshops will introduce participants to ‘forest therapy’, harnessing the mood promoting and immunity boosting benefits of time spent among trees. https://www.un.org/en/observances/forests-and-trees-day
