I do not claim to have the perfect life, but I do claim to be very happy and content with the life I have built… and I am sure that ‘listening’ to my gut and paying attention to the small signs has helped me navigate the world in a way that brings me peace, helps me avoid disaster and give me a strong sense of security, knowing that I am where I am supposed to be. If it feels wrong, I simply walk away, which can at times be difficult but is ultimately the key to calmness.

Something I often have to give due consideration to, is how to prove reincarnation to is a real phenomena… of course, wiser minds that mine have tried to create a body of evidence (I will create a separate post sharing some of the most compelling evidence based materials I have come across) but ultimately, we have to make up our own minds. Use our own experiences to guide our conclusions. I believe because of results which I cannot explain for example, how a women can be in front of me, describing in great detail the life of a man many decades ago, in a language she has never studied. It blows my mind when I witness such stories, and it excites me immensely when I am able to verify details provided during a session.

However, for me, it’s not really about proving or disproving. I’m certainly happy to contribute but it is not my ultimate aim. For me, it’s about the benefits that one can acquire having explored the meaning of a prior life, or learning valuable lessons from the past. That’s enough for me for now, because that alone is capable of bringing about such significant change and as long as it’s positive, then I can be proud to be a part of it.

I do harbour secret wild ambitions to one day team up with some of the best minds in the business to gather empirical evidence but for now, I shall continue to demonstrate by experience and allow others to decide for themselves.

FAQs

What does it feel like?
Often my clients report that they feel like they have ''made it up' which is exactly how every PLR I've had felt like. However, I have been able to substantiate / validate many such experiences and the clarity with which I can recount seemingly unimportant details and events is astonishing. I believe that the information I'm giving is based on fact rather than creation. Trust in your own mind, your imagination is the conduit to the unconscious mind. Even imagination has to come from somewhere. Having said that, others have reported that it felt like being in a dream, or like watching a movie with a strong connection to the characters or like replaying an old memory.

Will it work for me?
You do not need to be a believer to be able to have the experience. What we believe is secondary to our experience and what we explore is the experience of your previous life.
I have had people for whom it was unsuccessful… I believe this is due to 2 reasons. Firstly, the client being so anxious about what to expect that they find it too difficult to relax properly and enter trance. Secondly, the client believing that by ‘going under’ they are somehow relinquishing control over their mind (which of course is not true) in both cases, patience on my part and starting slowly getting them used to be in a trance is the key to overcoming these issues.

Do I need to have a good memory?
Not at all. PLR is about re-experiencing it rather than remembering it.

Can I participate if I have no set agenda, just for fun or out of curiosity?
Of course, thats how I started.

What are the risks?
There is the very real possibility that you will re-live traumatic or tragic experiences that happened in a previous life. It is just a fact of life that we sometimes go though negative experiences. I constantly monitor your emotional state (looking at tone, intonation, movement, body language etc.) and if I can sense that a client is becoming upset or agitated I move them past the point of the negative experience. Don't worry though, the feelings you felt when discussing the events dissipate afterwards and they becomes less emotionally charged as they move from an experience to a narrative. Your subconscious would not allow you to see something you are not prepared to handle. For example if you have been abused in this life, the only way in which you would see abuse in a previous life is if there is something to be gained from it. We can also aim to avoid certain events.

Will I remember the details of the session?
This is a tricky one because different people recount the session differently. Lots of people remember every detail (including some they didn't share with me at the time) and some remember very little. Normally those people do recollect after we go through the details. All sessions are recorded anyway so you will always have access to the information.

Do I have control over what details I give you?
Absolutely. On several occasions I have been able to sense that there was more to a situation than a client was letting on but for some reason, wasn't prepared to share it with me. For example, I had a lady who was a German Boar Hunter in a previous life. I asked ‘him’ how he spent his evenings and he would not give an answer, he was rather evasive. After the session, the client told me that ‘he’ regularly visited prostitutes and was too embarrassed to admit it to me.

How will I feel afterwards?
Again, this differs from person to person. On the whole, clients generally report that they feel like they have awoken from a deep sleep, and are a bit groggy for a few moments. Most people then exclaim ‘that was weird’ and tell me what they can and cannot remember. If the session was particularly emotional, clients immediately feel relieved and the emotion leaves them.

How can I validate the information?
My main aim is to garner as many verifiable facts as I can such as dates, places, buildings and there is a wealth of historical information on the internet we can use to verify specific details. This is where it gets truly interesting!

Are the sessions recorded?
Yes, an audio recording is taken and I also take many notes which you can have.

Is my experience private?
Absolutely. Your session will only be used either as a case study on the website or as an audio podcast with your express permission.

How long does a session last?
This depends on how long you lived and how many lives we access. Generally allow 1-2 hours in total.

I am on medication - can I still take part?
You will have to complete an intake form and I will assess your mental wellness and ability to cope with the knowledge that is discovered. It will depend on the type of medication you are on. I have a responsibility to ensure vulnerable persons do not partake in anything that could jeopardise their wellbeing.

What if I speak another language?
Your conscious mind is able to relay the information in English when prompted.

Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, however, they must remain quiet and not interfere with the session.

How do I know if I am ready for PLR?
It is perfectly normal to be nervous or to not know much about it beforehand. If you are fearful, worried about the outcome or overly skeptical then the time is probably not right.

How many sessions do I need?
It depends on your objective. In my experience, the first time you have a session, your mind guides you to the life it most wants to explore. Consecutive sessions can then be tailored to gain access to a particular life that holds the answer to any questions you may have. So, if it's just for fun and curiosity then one is sufficient. If its to uncover the reason behind a fear or phobia or emotional problem then 2 or more are required.

Where are the sessions held?
We can either arrange to conduct the session at my home or at your home. We can discuss what is most appropriate when booking.

What do I need to do to prepare?
* Set enough time aside so that there are no distractions & ensure you do not need to be contacted for the duration of the session
* Get a good nights sleep beforehand
* Eat well (something light) so that your tummy isn't rumbling
* Do not consume alcohol or recreational drugs for 24 hours beforehand. You need a clear mind
* Bring a list of issues you would like to address for example, childhood issues, heath concerns, negative emotional issues etc…
* Set the intention to have a positive experience - this will guide your subconscious mind to be prepared and open to the possibilities
* If you have had any experience of hypnotherapy or trance this will be very helpful (see download of self hypnosis recording that you can use to experience trance)

My own journey

I'm Marie and I'm originally from Glasgow but have been living in Bristol for over 20 years. I'm married and we have an effervescent daughter, a charming son and an excitable Labrador. My background is in marketing: You could say I've always had a passion for understanding human behaviour.

Back in 2006, I embarked upon a diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. It all began when I bought a Paul McKenna CD that helped me lose weight. He was then interviewed on a radio programme that I listened to as I pottered around the house on a wet Saturday afternoon. One thing he said struck a chord with me… He said that hypnotism is a skill that can be learned. I hadn't given it much thought before then, but over the coming weeks that fact stayed with me. I spent a long time always coming back to the same idea… what if I learned those skills for myself? It would allow me to help others in a practical way and I found the whole concept of the power of the mind and its links to behaviour so interesting. So, after a lot of research, I got myself a place on the diploma course offered by David Newton at the Clifton Practice in Bristol.

It was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done (or am ever likely to do) I decided to specialise in anxiety and depression since I have experience of this with friends and family. I met someone on the course who changed my life… Her name is Sarah and she is an amazing, spiritual soul. She has so much zest for life, her positivity is contagious. She's always trying new things and is all about being happy with whatever you have got. I suppose it was no surprise that when we finished the hypnotherapy course she went on to investigate other directions it could take you… She discovered that hypnotic trance is the conduit to explore previous lives. Of course, she excitedly shared this with me and encouraged me to try it for myself.

I can honestly say I never gave reincarnation a second thought before. It wasn't that I didn't believe in it, it was that I hadn't ever considered it. I had certainly had no experience of it beyond hearing folk talk about how they were Elvis or Marie Antoinette in a past life. It was a concept used in humour. I'm nothing if not open minded, so, out of curiosity I gave it a go…

My husband Steve was my first client ‘aka guinea pig’. One of the requirements to gain the hypnotherapy qualification was to undertake 150 clinic hours so my husband was well used to having new techniques tried out on him! To my amazement, after following what my friend Sarah had shared with me, Steve started describing his life as a little boy, growing up an orphan in Essex, being looked after by a prominent doctor. He told me his address, the year he was in and the name of the doctor that was raising him. Steve’s son was in the room at the time and was doing some fact checking online. Astonishingly, his son was able to verify most of the facts and even found records of the doctor. That was it, I was hooked.

I started offering free PLRs to anyone who fancied it and attended all the courses and seminars I could find. That was over a decade ago and I've done hundreds since then. I have heard some amazing stories, some emotional ones, some bizarre ones and ones that are just normal, simple lives.

The clients I've worked with have been my classroom, with each session I learn and grow. There are often new situations to deal with and the training in hypnotherapy has given me a strong foundation to be able to respond appropriately.

I've been on quite a journey myself, constantly learning and adapting my techniques. I have had to face some big philosophical questions and I believe that what I have discovered through experience has provided me with some of those answers. It is those questions that I particularly like to explore with clients, such as; What is the purpose of my life? Where do we go after death? Do we choose the circumstances we are born into? Can events from a previous life impact my current life? Then you get into the exciting realm of healing and soul purpose.

Don't you just hate it when people force their beliefs onto you? I certainly do, so I'm not about to start doing it to others. I do suggest keeping an open mind, enjoy the experience and take from it what you will. Make up your own mind.

Today I met ‘Fred’ a farmer from 1820’s Arkinsas. His parents died in quick succession in his late teens and the fact that he grew up in a remote village with the nearest neighbour being 10 miles in each direction made for an isolated existence.

When Fred met and married Mavis, he felt like he had won the lottery. The two shared a simple life where all they needed was each other. Mavis was the homemaker who made outstanding buns! They laughed a lot together and accepted that they were unable to have children.

After 25 years of marriage, when aged only 42, Mavis developed a cough that quickly took her life. Unable to continue on, he left his home and life behind to become a wanderer. He literally spend the next 20 years travelling around the Midwest, using the rail network and hitchhiking. Surviving by picking up work on farms and moving on sometimes after days, sometimes after a month. Fred took pleasure from being able to see the sights and the travelling provided him with a sense of forward motion.

He was saddened by all the loss that he had suffered, yet was not bitter since he felt gratitude for the good times. Fred died alone of a heart attack on the side of the road aged 75 and welcomed death because he knew his time had come.

On reflection, my client felt pride in Fred’s ability to carve out a new existence that gave his life some sort of meaning. However, the loneliness was inescapable, so much so that my client became quite emotional. The greatest lesson learned from Fred was to love deeply, be grateful for the good times and not wallow in self pity when the unimaginable happens.
