🌟 Canine Physiotherapy 🌟

🔵 Here is little Bruce enjoying some Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy at the end of his physiotherapy session yesterday, after exercises.

🔵 Bruce was referred from his vet with Patellar Maltracking, a painful condition where the patellar (knee cap) is not tracking well in the trochlear groove of the femur (thigh bone).

🔵 At each appointment, Bruce’s gait is assessed (as can be seen in the video). He slightly adducts the right hind leg under his body still due to weakness in his gluteal and quadriceps muscles, but this is improving.

🔵 Bruce’s owners have been very diligently completing his exercises daily, and he has stopped skipping out on his walks 🙌🏻

Keep your furry friends safe in the heat! ☀️🐾

With temperatures hitting 26°C, it's important to remember: pets feel the heat even more than we do. Here's how to protect them:

🚫 No walkies during midday heat – Stick to early morning or evening.
🚗 Never leave pets in cars – Even with windows down, it’s deadly.
💧 Keep them cool & hydrated – Fresh water and shade are a must.
🐶 Watch for signs of heatstroke – Excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy? Call us immediately.

As part of our extensive bridle-horse interaction research, using state of the art measuring equipment, we are conducting a scientific study comparing behaviour, noseband and headpiece pressures, and rein tension for horses ridden in a bitless bridles and a snaffle bridle.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
🐴Horses and riders who compete in dressage with a snaffle bridle
🐴Horses and riders who regularly train in a bitless bridle (side pull or cross under. Not a hackamore)
🐴Both horse and rider must be accustomed to both the snaffle and bitless bridle, and will be required to carry out a short ridden test (walk, trot, canter, transitions and turns) to confirm suitability.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼?

🌸🌼🌷 Did someone say SPRING? 🌷🌼🌸

🌿 Now that spring is here, why not get your horse assessed and treated, to make sure their musculoskeletal system is at its optimum?

🌿 This is a great time of year to have them checked for several reasons:

- The British Eventing season starts in March 🇬🇧 So a pre-season check is advisable before your first run out

- If you are starting to increase your horse’s workload post winter

- If your horse had an injury over winter and you’ve been rehabbing, it is important to have them checked before re-starting ridden work

- Has your horse changed shape? Have they lost/put on weight over winter? This will influence the state of their musculoskeletal system, and it would also be sensible to have their saddle checked aswell as their musculoskeletal system.
