Last week was Aviation week, we were very busy everyday with an aviation quiz, name the aeroplane game, the Concorde documentary, spitfire art and then we were treated to an outing to Aerospace Filton and saw Concorde ✈️

✨ This Week at Hamberley Care Homes ✨

What a week it has been across our Hamberley homes – full of music, laughter, sunshine, and wonderful memories 💛

🌞 Brookwater House Care Home – Residents enjoyed a magical afternoon with singer Marco, who wowed everyone with Italian classics and a heartfelt rendition of “My Way”.

💃 Charrington Manor Care Home – Simon had everyone moving with a joyful morning of ballroom dancing.

🎶 Cofton Park Manor Care Home – Enjoyed a bank holiday weekend filled with sing-a-longs, cheese & wine, and sunshine in the garden.

🌿 Dorking Manor Care Home – Had a fantastic day trip to Polesden Lacey, where residents explored history, art, and the beautiful gardens.

🏌️ Edwalton Manor Care Home – Residents had a wonderful outing to The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club, with golf buggies and afternoon tea.

🎨 Meryton Place Care Home – Audrey (celebrating her 100th year! 🌟) joined Clive & Tony on a trip to The Holburne Museum in Bath, enjoying art, history, and delicious cake.

🎉 Nesbit House Care Home – Held a brilliant summer party with live music, cocktails, magic, and delicious food.

🎤 Newton House Care Home – Roland Russell had residents singing, clapping, and dancing with his fantastic live performance.

🦉 Templeton Place Care Home – Residents enjoyed a fascinating Birds of Prey talk, meeting Wilfred the owl, Whispa the baby owl, and London the hawk.

🐴 Upton Manor Care Home – Enjoyed a summer party with a petting farm, Punch & Judy, crafts, stalls, and a sizzling BBQ in the sunshine.

💖 Thank you to our wonderful teams, entertainers, and communities who make weeks like this so special for our residents. Here’s to many more joyful moments together!

☕🍰 Coffee, Cake & Quizzing for a Cause! 🍰☕

Join us at Lovell Place Care Home on Friday 26th September, 10.00am – 12.30pm for a relaxed and friendly coffee morning. Enjoy a delicious selection of home-baked cakes and freshly made coffees while supporting a wonderful cause. 💚

At 11.00am, we’ll be hosting a fun general knowledge quiz – with a prize for the winner! 🏆

All donations from the morning will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

At Hamberley Care Homes, we know just how much joy our four-legged friends bring. From wagging tails to gentle cuddles, our visiting dogs never fail to brighten our residents’ days 🐶✨

Whether it’s a friendly lick, a soft paw, or just the comfort of their company, these special visits create moments of happiness, connection, and calm.

Last week we visited Page Park in Bristol for a lovely stroll around the grounds and their sensory garden and a well deserved visit to their delicious café, Such a lovely bright sunny day with plenty of vitamin D and fresh air 🥰

This morning we visited the delightful little village of Frampton-on-Severn, spending time wandering to the beautiful sailing lake to enjoy the tranquillity & perfect views, then a gentle stroll back to the quaint little coffee shop on the green to enjoy drinks and a lovely chat together about how perfect the village was - we will definitely be visiting again :)

🚂✨ All Aboard the Intercontinental Express at Cofton Park Manor! ✨🚂

Last week, our care home Cofton Park Manor in Cofton Hackett took residents, families, and the local community on an unforgettable journey around the world – all without leaving the home! 🌍

From Italy’s rich flavours and Mexico’s vibrant fiesta, to the sunshine spirit of Greece, the electric energy of Ibiza (complete with a neon rave 🪩🎶), and finally Sweden – each day was packed with themed food, live entertainment, and cultural activities.

They even had their very own train conductor checking passports as guests boarded for each destination – adding to the fun and sense of adventure! 🚉✈️

The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, dancing, and connection – a perfect reminder that life doesn’t stop when you move into a care home; it’s just the start of a new chapter filled with amazing experiences. 💙

A huge thank you to the incredible Cofton Park Manor team for hosting such a creative, joy-filled week – right down to the tiny details that made it feel like a true holiday for our residents.

🏉 Rugby spirit meets community spirit at Richmond Manor! 🏉

Our sports-loving residents were thrilled to welcome the Ampthill Womens Rugby Team to Richmond Manor Care Home as they collected their brand-new team shirts.

The shirts – sponsored by our home – will be proudly worn at the Cheltenham Festival, and we couldn’t be prouder to support such a dedicated and inspiring local team.

A special moment for 95-year-old resident Colleen Cockerill, whose stepdaughter, Sally Cockerill, once played for England as a blindside flanker – proving that the love of rugby truly runs in the family.

We wish them the best of luck for the season ahead – we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! 💛💜

☀️ Cambridge Grove – Sunshine and smiles at their Summer Fete, raising funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

🌸 Charrington Manor – Residents enjoying the gorgeous weather in our beautiful garden space

🏍️ Wheelie Good Memories at Richmond Manor! 🏍️

A big thank you to Oakley Motorcycle Club for roaring into Richmond Manor and bringing smiles, stories, and plenty of engine revs! 🚀 From sidecar memories to special family visits, it was a day our residents won’t forget. 💙

Wheelie good memories were triggered when members of Oakley Motorcycle Club drove up to a Bedford care home.

What a lovely special summer party we had on Saturday here at Lovell Place.. We all joined together to gather in our gardens and enjoyed a authentic Punch & Judy show - followed by a live singer who wowed us with our favourite songs.
Our kitchen staff prepared a delicious BBQ feast, we were treated to authentic ice cream in cones, classic fete stalls and we then had a lovely surprise and were amazed by a mini motorbike show and a trike that we were allowed to sit on, the owner of the trike has said that if anyone would like to arrange a 'ride-out' with him (he has passenger charity insurance) on his trike for a donation towards our fundraising for this event which is St Peter's Hospice (Please see Vicky for more details).
The sun shone for us all day and it was a delightful afternoon for all of our residents to be able to spend time together with friends, family and staff. Money raised from Saturday is being counted and will be announced soon - Thank you to all x

Our 'Lavender Ladies of Lovell' have been busy making fresh lavender bags using our own 'Lovell Lavender' that we grew in our gardens. The room was filled with the delightful relaxing aroma of lavender and we had such a fun productive afternoon - all bagged up and ready to sell at our summer party event this afternoon 🥰

This morning we had such fun at our dance exercise with Lauren from Flourish Dance Wellbeing session.
We enjoyed Hawaiian hula dancing, 'swimming' and seaside beachball fun, a great way to spend a windy morning, it was as if we were all on our summer holiday's 🏖🏊‍♀️🤾‍♂️

It Takes Two husband and wife duo joined us for a absolutely magical music afternoon - we all sang along and danced together to our favourite songs. Such a lovely afternoon with lots of smiles and beautiful memories created. Thank you John & Joanne for a fabulous afternoon x
