Join us for a beautiful afternoon of creativity at Lovell Place Care Home, as we welcome local floral artist April Hulin for a hands-on dried flower keepsake workshop. April grows and presses her own blooms, and she’ll guide you step-by-step in creating your own stunning floral artwork.

What a wonderful week we have had painting terracotta pots for our new bistro patio transformation - we each created individual unique pieces of art for the bistro tables, we will be planting them up after they have had a coat of varnish.
We have also been busy tending to the new flourishing plants and keeping on top of their maintenance.

🚗 Cofton Park Manor prepped for their big car show with sweet goody bags.

🎨 Alston House hosted a community art session inspired by the summer sunshine.

🐍 Dorking Manor welcomed a special visitor — Sissy the Corn Snake!

🎤 Newton House danced and sang along with CH Music.

🌿 Bringing Nature to Life at Alston House 🌸

Our green-fingered residents at Alston House Care Home have been busy creating a beautiful new ‘wild patch’ garden — part of a local greening campaign to support biodiversity and tackle climate change. 🐝🌼

With support from Elly Swanbrow from the Eastleigh Town Greening Campaign, residents planted foxgloves, teasels, and scattered cornflower seeds — all to help encourage bees, butterflies, and other wildlife into our garden.

This is just the start of a blooming journey, and we’re so proud of everyone for their enthusiasm and care for the environment. 💚

Fun Friday finished with 'the best afternoon ever' with water games and being silly in the garden.
Residents and homemakers teamed up and had a water challenge moving the contents of one bucket to the other end only using cups, then our residents really enjoyed the one sided water fight against the staff 🤣 a great way to keep our staff cool in this heat - a 'soaker' skipping rope was put to the test by our home manager Daney 😁 and then it all went a little bit wet & wild and the cameras were put inside to stay dry - a perfect fun filled Friday for everyone 🥰

Fun Friday started with a motorcycle display to celebrate National Motorcycle Day. Our residents met some amazing local bikers who came to enjoy the sunshine and spend the morning with us - we welcomed them and we were amazed at their beautiful (and noisy 😉) bikes.
Bacon butties and cold drinks were appreciated and we hope to see them all again soon.

On 26th July, an enthusiastic group from Verwood House Care Home will be getting muddy for a brilliant cause — raising funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance 🚁💛

🌟 This Week at Hamberley Care Homes 🌟

It’s been another week full of fun, sunshine, and unforgettable moments across our homes — here’s just a glimpse of what we’ve been up to:

☀️ Alston House soaked up the sun with the sweet sounds of Little Joe — the perfect soundtrack to a summer afternoon.

🎸 Abbots Wood Manor rocked out in style for National Rock ‘n’ Roll Day with Elvis classics, dancing, and plenty of blue suede shoes!

👒 Brookwater House brought style and smiles to the home with a fabulous Fashion Day, featuring colourful scarves, big hats, stylish sunglasses, and lots of laughter on our very own catwalk!

🐐 Charrington Manor enjoyed a heartwarming trip to Bocketts Farm Park, spending quality time with furry friends and each other.

💦 Cofton Park Manor residents made the most of the warm weather with a relaxing afternoon dipping their feet into paddling pools, enjoying the sunshine, and reminiscing over cherished summer memories.

🐢 Elstow Manor welcomed some exotic visitors thanks to Exotic Animal Encounter — though Amy the tortoise had her own plans to wonder round the home!

🦓 Lovell Place explored the wonders of wildlife with an exciting trip to the Bristol Zoo Project.

🌿 Meryton Place had an incredible morning at Bath City Farm — stunning views, lovely animals, and warm hospitality made it a day to remember.

🦘 Newton House spent the day at Calderglen Park, connecting with nature and enjoying close encounters with king tamarins, wallabies, and more.

✈️ Richmond Manor had a fascinating visit to the Shuttleworth Collection, with resident expert Tony sharing his impressive knowledge of vintage vehicles.

We love seeing our residents experience joy, purpose, and connection every day 💙

Yesterday we had a fun afternoon hiding in the cool shade in the bear wood at Bristol Zoo Project / the wild place - we watched the bears bathing in their cool pools and tried to spot the new cheetahs in the long grass. The giraffes were so beautiful and elegant. It was such an amazing experience for all of us and also a memorable one for one of our residents who was a groundsman for the old farmland before the land was sold to the Bristol zoo project - it was great to see the original milking sheds being used for the café and ice cream parlour 😃

🚗💦 Buckets of Fun & Big Hearts at Upton Manor! 🐾

Residents at Upton Manor Care Home rolled up their sleeves for a fun-filled fundraising car wash, all in support of local animal rescue charity Corbiere Cat Cabin 🐈

Armed with jet washes and big smiles, our residents soaked up the sunshine — and the laughter — while raising money for a cause close to their hearts. Risa, one of our residents, even admitted to ‘accidentally’ spraying a few friends along the way!

Thank you to everyone who donated — and to our residents for showing once again that care, community and kindness go hand in hand 💙

Mini Mondays at Lovell Place was a great success this morning with the patter of little feet and children giggling and having fun - we welcomed children from Ambourne House to join us today and we watched in amazement at the little 'engineers' building marble run towers, we also enjoyed story time, juice & biscuits and the children were extremely helpful and helped us to water the potted plants on the balcony.

It was baking afternoon here today and we made delicious cheese & ham pizza pinwheels together. An endless supply of 'rolls' ready for the oven to be baked for us to enjoy for our afternoon snack 😋 fresh and very scrummy - just perfect 👌

We were honoured to welcome Bromsgrove MP Bradley Thomas MP to Cofton Park Manor, where he spent time with residents — including Dave McGrath, a much-loved former councillor who dedicated over 20 years to serving Bromsgrove District Council.

Now enjoying a well-earned retirement with us, Dave remains an inspiration through his stories, achievements, and lifelong commitment to the local community.
