Anyone else pre-order things months before they are released and then forget about it??

I had a lovely surprise when latest book turned up yesterday! I’ve got her other 2 so instantly knew I needed this one too! And it has not disappointed!

Looking through last night, I want to make EVERYTHING!!! Sooo many lovely recipes to try, and all super speedy! Right up my street!

Even my youngest was impressed, she has already requested the ‘Snickers Yogurt Bowl’ for breakfast this morning! I can confirm, it was delicious! Sadly no photo though, I may be able to get a decent breakfast out but taking photos while trying to get her out of the door for school was not happening!!

I really didn’t want to go to the gym this morning.

I was tired.
It was warm in bed.
I had work to do.
And honestly… I just couldn’t be bothered.

But I also knew I’d feel better afterwards.

And that’s the funny thing about looking after yourself sometimes…
The things that help the most are often the things we least feel like doing in the moment.

Going for a walk.
Cooking something nourishing.
Getting outside.
Moving your body.
Putting your phone down earlier.
Taking a proper lunch break.

Not because we’re trying to be “perfect”.
But because they genuinely help us feel more like ourselves again.

I think social media can make wellbeing look very all-or-nothing sometimes.

But most of the time?
It’s just normal people trying to make slightly better choices where they can.

Anyway… I went.
And I do feel better for it - even if this piece of torture equipment still makes me feel sick every time!!

The 3pm crash isn’t random.

It’s usually been building since breakfast.

If your morning starts with:
- Toast
- Cereal
- A pastry
- Or just coffee

You’ll get a quick rise in energy…
followed by a drop.

That drop is what you feel mid-afternoon.

So what do most people do?
👉 More coffee
👉 Something sugary
👉 Push through
…and the cycle continues.

A simple shift?

Add protein to your breakfast.

Something like:
- Eggs
- Greek yogurt
- Mixed nuts and seeds

It slows things down, stabilises your energy, and reduces that crash later.

Small change - big difference.

If motivation feels low right now, it’s rarely a willpower problem.

It’s often:
• poor sleep
• running on caffeine
• skipping meals
• constant pressure without recovery

Your body isn’t failing - it’s asking for support.

Small changes to how you fuel and rest can make a bigger difference than pushing harder ever will.

Blue Monday… or a chance to check in?

You’ve probably seen today labelled as the most depressing day of the year. But I’d love to gently change that narrative.

January can feel heavy - darker mornings, tired routines, the pressure to be “back on it” – and that’s real.

But giving one Monday a gloomy label can sometimes make us feel worse, not better.

What if instead, today was simply a pause point? A chance to notice how you’re actually feeling. A reminder to be kind to your energy. An opportunity to make one small choice that supports you – not transforms you.

That might look like:
• Getting outside for daylight
• Choosing a nourishing lunch
• Moving your body gently
• Saying no to something unnecessary
• Going to bed earlier tonight

Mental wellbeing isn’t built on big gestures. It’s shaped by small, consistent acts of self-care, especially on ordinary days.

So if today feels hard, that’s okay.

And if it doesn’t, that’s okay too.

Let’s make Blue Monday less about doom, and more about compassion, balance, and support

(Photo of this one as it’s hard to stay ‘blue’ when you get up to this happy face each day! And no, he should not be on the back of the sofa 😅)

That 3pm slump doesn’t always need more coffee ☕
Sometimes it needs a calmer kind of energy.

Matcha = focus without the frenzy 💚
Would you swap your afternoon coffee for this?

Did anyone else catch the ‘How to Keep Your Brain Young’ programme on Channel 5 last night? As someone with a huge interest in brain health – and a big fan of - this was right up my street!

I loved the blend of science and real-life tactics to support better brain health. It was incredible to see how quickly small changes can make a difference. And of course, I was absolutely thrilled to see such a strong emphasis on how our diet can impact brain health, mood, and memory.

Highly recommend giving it a watch. If you’ve seen it, let me know what you thought!

I stopped in at M&S to grab a quick lunch between meeting today. It’s an easy place to find something on the go, but most of us head straight to the salads and sandwiches.

But, have you taken a look at the deli section??

Their pre-made salads are great, but here is where the magic really happens!

The choice is huge!! Something for everyone! You can really up your protein and fibre here, much more than in a pre-made salad.

You can get 3 items for £8, and they are big enough to do 2 lunches!

All I’ve added is a bag of salad because I like to up my plant points! So I’ve got everything I needed for 2 lunches, for under £10!!

Wholesome, protein and fibre packed, filling, and most importantly, DELICIOUS! Thank M&S!

(Excuse the dodgy photos, it was really busy in there and I felt a bit odd taking pics 😂)

Things I would buy in Costco as a nutritionist.

I found myself in Costco this morning (as you do!) and there were some great products there! I’m a big fan of batch cooking so lots of this sings out to me for that!! What have a missed??
