You can feel it, can’t you?
I got excited too.
There are hints, whispers, taunts of blossoms & hope circling us. The smells are changing, each morning a little easier. The birds are our compass, warning us of Spring’s arrival.
But here’s the thing...it’s not actually here yet.
We’re vulnerable during seasonal changes. This is a thing. We hear it. We sort of know it. But why? Whhhhhy?!
I reckon it all comes down to presence, my friends. Or, a lack of...Leaning in, sitting with, being with the season we are currently in.
When the transition starts, being present becomes harder.
Things can feel a bit unpredictable, our minds & bodies are no longer so sure which season we’re in, and therefore what we need to honour. (Or whether we wear a scarf today or not!? FYI - if in doubt, wear the scarf)
Especially shifting from Winter to Spring, we tend to desperately will a quicker transition. As soon as buds & blooms, rays & warmth tentatively come forth, we’re on it.
We get in our Spring zones. Clearing the s**t, picking up the pace, the tasks, the plans, the ideas.
It’s a beautiful time.
But we’re still in Winter. We’re still swimming in the richness of rest, restoration, rejuvenation & rituals.
It’s a beautiful time. Let’s not rush it.
If you’re not feeling the childlike energetic movement of Woody Spring, maybe that’s why...It isn’t here just yet.
Before the Solstice on March 20th, try to encourage slowness. Don’t resist it. Be still for a bit. Breathe. Rest. Watch Netflix (if you haven’t completed it). Check in. Go within.
🖤
There’s also a lot extra going on right now, right?
My clinic doors are open to anyone suffering with mental health, pain or discomfort (& hopefully to everyone else from April 12th).
Just reach out. I’m here for you.
