I’m taking some space away from social media for a while.

A detox.

A cleanse.

My brain is craving space & simplicity. So, that’s what I’m going to give it 💜

I’m going to read books instead of captions & stroll in nature purposefully, not scroll with my thumb aimlessly.

I’m still here for you all, probably in greater capacity.

If you need me, or want to connect there are plenty of other options & ways to do so, just go to my link in my bio.

Lots of love,
Charley

Setting boundaries isn’t all about saying ‘no’, but it’s a really good place to start. ⁣

Because, when we say yes to things that do not align with us, we are actually saying no to ourselves.⁣

Why are boundaries important? They help us to respect ourselves, honour self care & live in alignment with our true selves. ⁣

It’s easier said than done though, isn’t it? Saying ‘no’.⁣

I get it.⁣

Give this little post a save and refer back to it for inspiration when you feel that inner ni**le of wanting to say ‘no’ but not knowing how to.⁣

Read. That. Again.

Your existence is for you and you alone. Move to your rhythm, go with your flow. Say no to the things that do not align with you.

Today is the New Moon in Ta**us, an Earth-y sign. This New Moon allows us to gentle shake off those pressures & expectations of others, and create the inner refuge & homely sanctuary we need.

It’s been a theme personally & in clinic these past weeks while restrictions are lifting. I’ve written a bit about it in more detail (link to The Element Within’s Library in bio ✨)

Take some time this evening to honour the New Moon.

It’s Yin time, lovely ones. We can feel anxious when we are forcing Yang energy during the Yin phase of the Moon cycle.

Go inward, rest, cancel plans, even if it makes others uncomfortable. You don’t exist for them.

🖤

‘When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving through you, a joy’ - Rumi

When things feel jagged and uncomfortable, it can be a sign that we’re not acting congruently with our true selves.

When we flow with ourselves instead of against ourselves, everything feels better. Qi flows better. Life flows better.

How can you move and act with your true rhythm more? ✨

How can you be more true to yourself? 🌊

My gaaaawd, it’s a joy being fully open again.

It’s a joy seeing familiar faces again.

It’s a joy meeting new people, and listening to their stories.

It’s a joy to continuously be learning.

I really am in awe of the wonder that is Chinese Medicine & our human capabilities of limitless adaptation, resilience to change & unstoppable fire to get better.

That fire is there. It may be mere embers at times, but with a little gust of wind it can fully take hold once again.

I leave my clinic days feeling so full. Thank you ###xx

We’re in the thick of it now, lovelies.

Wood energy is swirling & surging, lifting & forcing 🍃

The season of change is well and truly upon us.

With the added dynamics of lockdown release & the full moon in Aries (hello new astrological year) we’re shifting into new ways of being whether we realise it or not.

We’re growing. Like we always have done and like we always will.

With growth must come change.

It might be uncomfortable, we may even resist it. Our inner critic, our anxiety may be shouting at us louder than ever, desperately trying to keep us small, keep us safe, keep everything the same.

But, with growth must come change.

As Spring is held by the Element of change, it can feel overwhelming at times, but know you’re also most supported for these changes right now.

Trust. Lean in.

Let the wind of change carry you.

You are safe, even in the unknown.

🌳

What’s the Wood Element all about then?! Well, I’ve written a little blog about it, so go check it out (link in bio ✨)

It’s here.

But what is an Equinox?

It’s a day (that only happens twice a year) when there is, in theory the same amount of day hours & night hours. In relation to Chinese Medicine, today there’s an equal balance between Yin & Yang around us. Lovely jubbly.

The March Equinox is when we shift from Yin annnnnd into Yang. It marks the start of Spring.

So, what’s Rituals got to do with it?

I’m a lover of rituals. And really, our lives are full of them, whether we call them ‘rituals’ or not. From the time we wake in the mornings, to how we have our coffee, to the daily walks we take...we’re creating rituals.

Fancy creating a small space today to celebrate the arrival of Spring?

Great!

I’ve put together a little guide to Spring Equinox Rituals, giving you plenty of inspiration for easy, little rituals with the theme of Spring. Link in bio ✨

When we honour nature’s changes, we honour ours too.

Whatever you’re doing today, take a moment to notice Spring. It’s here, my lovelies.

You can feel it, can’t you?

I got excited too.

There are hints, whispers, taunts of blossoms & hope circling us. The smells are changing, each morning a little easier. The birds are our compass, warning us of Spring’s arrival.

But here’s the thing...it’s not actually here yet.

We’re vulnerable during seasonal changes. This is a thing. We hear it. We sort of know it. But why? Whhhhhy?!

I reckon it all comes down to presence, my friends. Or, a lack of...Leaning in, sitting with, being with the season we are currently in.

When the transition starts, being present becomes harder.

Things can feel a bit unpredictable, our minds & bodies are no longer so sure which season we’re in, and therefore what we need to honour. (Or whether we wear a scarf today or not!? FYI - if in doubt, wear the scarf)

Especially shifting from Winter to Spring, we tend to desperately will a quicker transition. As soon as buds & blooms, rays & warmth tentatively come forth, we’re on it.

We get in our Spring zones. Clearing the s**t, picking up the pace, the tasks, the plans, the ideas.

It’s a beautiful time.

But we’re still in Winter. We’re still swimming in the richness of rest, restoration, rejuvenation & rituals.

It’s a beautiful time. Let’s not rush it.

If you’re not feeling the childlike energetic movement of Woody Spring, maybe that’s why...It isn’t here just yet.

Before the Solstice on March 20th, try to encourage slowness. Don’t resist it. Be still for a bit. Breathe. Rest. Watch Netflix (if you haven’t completed it). Check in. Go within.

🖤

There’s also a lot extra going on right now, right?

My clinic doors are open to anyone suffering with mental health, pain or discomfort (& hopefully to everyone else from April 12th).

Just reach out. I’m here for you.
